Yes, it is nice to see the lower price to coincide with the collapse in silver prices. I also will continue my collection.

I'll probably get the White Mountain and the Great Basin this year. Then, I need to save my money for next year because I think I'll want most, if not all, of them, as the designs appeal to me a great deal.

I thought about that but the bank account just did not allow for it

Does anyone believe that it will sell out early? I read that the dealers are interested in this one for the low cost. The 2012's are old sold out. I plan to order early on the 16th.

Does anybody know why the Mint chose not to do these in a true proof instead of this vapor-blasted stuff? I'll bet they would have looked outstanding that way.

We know it can be done, as the Perth Mint and the Mexican Mint do 5-ounce proofs quite often.

Are these other mints so much more advanced than the U. S. Mint or what is the story?

Regardless, I plan on getting 1 of these, as I like the landscape design.

These go on sale tomorrow - is the mint ever going to post an ad for them or are we just going to order them telepathically ?

Just a heads up...the bullion version is available to pre-order at Provident and Apmex...care to guess where they cost less? Shipping is estimated as 5/23 at the place I ordered.

Wow....big price difference. Is there any difference in what you'd get from one of these places versus what you'd get if you ordered direct from the mint? Different packaging? Something else?

Just curious as to what you all are doing. Who is going for the bullion at $140 and who is going for the vapor-blasted at $180 and who is going for both at $320?

I saw that the one from the US Mint has the P mintmark and apmex is selling theirs with no mintmark. not sure the difference and value difference.. anyone have an idea or reason?

The P version is the one sold by the US mint. It has a P mint mark, vapor blast finish and comes in a box with COA. It is packaged and marketed as a collectible version.

The bullion version is a bullion round, they are treated as such by the mint, 10 tubes of 10 per tube in a monster box. It is marketed as bullion and is usually less money to purchase.

I've never purchased them from Apmex, and those I've gotten from Provident, when buying less than 10, come in an air tite. Just a heads up that the air tite is not a cheap date.

Non-mintmarked is a bullion only version, only worth it's silver content (well too most people), some collect them. The P-mintmarked is a collector's version with a different finish that is like a sandblasting effect. Hence, the mint charges more for them. Also they are the only ones you can buy directly from the Mint. The bullion ones have to be bought through a distributor like APMEX/Provident/etc.

The mintage on the 5 ounce ATBs seems to be all over the place. The White River is a fairly low 25,000. Does anyone know the logic behind the 5 oz mintage numbers besides dialing in on demand? I can't seem to find it.

I placed an order for one on the USMint website. It's my first 5 oz'er from this ATB series. I guess I'm only interested in this collector version and will try and order one of each upcoming release directly from the USMint.

I don't know if this thread will help you but it was my attempt to understand circulation with value of the pucks.
