i know its not a coin but it is silver just trying to find a manufacturer or date it was made you could say it only cost me $2 weighs 2.6 grams not sure what te 05 means and i can not read the letters in the circle
sorry getting very iratated with kirby return to dream land scope shot level 3 and i think every one can see that its a charm
It's a .925 charm... TE-05 is Theresa Engles 2005... It didn't end well so now you have it... Part of the above is true, most of it is made up, you can guess from there. Maybe get a pic where we can make out the letters around 925. Maybe a better light source and crop the pic so it's actually legible?
Take it to your local jewelers and see if they can maybe shed some light on the piece. Oh......and as for 'duh'? I do that alot....... Just ask Frank.
"Hecho en Mexico" means "Made in Mexico" "Taxco" is the silver producing region of Mexico. William Spratling settled in the area in the late 1920's and introduced the art of silversmith to the region. Early pieces are anywhere from .940 - .980 sterling...and quite expensive. The earlier pieces are from Spratling himself or his original disciples...all well known silver artisans. Your piece, based on the composition and inscription is likely a recent piece (less than 40 years old). There should be a maker's mark on it somewhere. Collecting early Taxco silver...by artist...is a very enjoyable hobby! ...and not a bad investment, either.
Thank you that was basicly the info i was looking for i could read the word tax but that was it which is why i couldnt write down the worlds i knew some one would know. Thats the only mark i can find on it. Ill take your info adn put it towards more research to narrow it down.
Would the TE-05 be the maker's mark? Someone with TE initials made it in 2005? Btw, excellent post Yakpoo, a true showing of the power of KNOWLEDGE. :thumb:
