Oh - if thats the case I misread what he said. I thought he was unwilling to change the negative to neutral but not unwilling to add that he seller offered refund - once the refund was actually recieved.

Tell her you want the refund first. I know that typically you have to return the item first, but the magnet is proof enough - send her the picture. I would tell her that as soon as I got the full refund PLUS shipping charges on the return, I'd return it and change the neg. If she's really sincere about customer service she'll do it. If not, then I'd let it stand.

I am feeling pretty stupid right now.

I really just wanted to share my experience with people that had similar internets in collecting bullion.
So I'm not the smartest person for buying silver off of ebay as I ended up with a fake.

As for how the seller charged me, $30.99 + $1.99 shipping and as I pointed out with goldmart if I purchase 10 oz at one time I would be paying less then $1.00/oz for shipping so I would be better of with goldmart.

Did not think I was complaining about their shipping at that point, but it seems bits and piece of my post get taken the wrong way.

Please keep in mind being the dumb guy with a limit vocabulary it's often difficult for me to communicate correctly. ;)

let me phrase it differently then. his "strategy" is illogical.

no worries, I just don't see the point of taking the risk on Ebay.

Lol, we've all been there, friend! I've made my share of boneheaded eBay buys. In fact, I've got you beat by a long shot if this is your first problem in years of collecting.

I've made 10 bigger bone-head decisions this week. Don't sweat it.

That's what I'm thinking now too.

Yes it is my first problem, lucky so far.
It did give me the chance to get some silver out and talk about it with my son, that was fun.

He knows how a magnet should not stick to silver now too and how the old man got taken on ebay, lol..

The time you spent with your son is worth far more than the $30 you may have lost. I've got two of my own, and neither one is interested in coins, but that's OK - we've got plenty of other common interests.

I got my 5 year old daughter interested in coins. I bought a box of nickels, I searched for silver she searched for the bison & boat nickels. I gave here a album and she puts all her bisons in there. She has fun when we do it.

at least you know you bought a fake. think how much worse it would be if you didn't know.

Yeah, curiously, my 6-year old girl is more interested than the guys. She was astonished by the idea that people pay money for money!

My grandma and mother got me interesting in coins. I have both of their collections now.
Hope to keep on passing things forward.

    Very true.

Looking at the positive feedback left for that seller I think others where unaware of what they purchased when they left feedback or they were talked into changing their feedback in exchange for a refund.

I'm VERY wary of art bars anymore - I will only buy them from my LCS, the owner of which is very reputable. The only silver I feel comfortable buying on eBay is ASEs.
