This is my only silver art bar purchase today on the 2nd day of the TSNS Spring Chattanooga Coin show: It is a 1975 World Wide Mint "Coca-Cola - Atlanta" silver art bar. I paid $35 for it today (spot silver finished yesterday at $28.56/oz). Relatively speaking, this is a decent deal IMO. Mintage-wise, it is the most common Coca-Cola silver art bars that was minted by the World Wide Mint (mintage = 50,000). IMO this purchase today is my best silver art bar purchase out of the 3 total bars that I bought at this coin show.
I purchased my 2013 ASE MS70 Early Release and my PF70 DCAM First Strike this week. We all know what a ASE looks like. Since you can't tell the difference between a 69 and 70 grade (most times), I didn't think it was necessary to post pictures.
I was reading in Coin World last month about all the different Coca Cola collectables. Good read. Gotta get me one of those bars someday. Having much better luck getting Silver Art Bars at shows and the LCS than I am on eBAY. Ebay has a great selection but the prices are a little much.
The piece at the bottom with the Idaho on It is of interest to me. I like everything Idaho pm me if you would be willing to swap/sell it to me.
Very cool. I just saw one of those for sale today on CL in the original packaging for double that price essentially http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/clt/3655107319.html
Here are a few - just got them - no premium so I grabbed them. The yellow you see is the camera reflection
envy is the word. can you give me some advice about buying 5 and 10 oz. bars. i was thinking of buying my usually silver maple leaf oz'er and ASE's then trade up for a 10 oz. bar. my question to you is...because of the premium on government issue maple leafs and ase's will the price be lower for a 10oz'er in the trade ?? I cannot afford a 10oz bar all at once.
That was after about 9 weeks but I went all in buying with both hands in Dec/Jan and spent the bulk of the savings I had left after buying my new car so now I have to slow down. I am up to 210 oz now. I sold the 3 silver dollars and elvis coin and replaced them with a tube of halfs, englehard 1oz bar, and 2 more ASE's for +1.5oz gain. Yesterday I sold the 8 generic rounds and bought 10 more phils so I could have a full tube of 20. I hope to keep stacking 10 - 20 ounces per month going forward while trying to rebuild my dry powder. I have an old pour englehard 10oz bar being held for me by my LCS cuz I don't want to spend the cash right now. He wanted $320 for it yesterday which is about 3.50 over spot and I am afraid if I wait too long it will end up costing me 330 or 340. :foot-mouth: p.s. I would not trade premium silver bullion/coins for bars. I only traded my generics for premiums cuz I wanted to fill a tube and I ended having to pay the premium difference plus a little extra. Just stack powder longer until you can afford a 5 or 10 ouncer.
hehe, I couldn't pass it up cuz I didn't have anywhere good to store that proof (need a bigger safe). I bought it for $30 and sold it for $50 a couple weeks later. I am sticking with things I can put in tubes or air-tites now. I just bought some crown royal bags today for my pirate treasure that doesn't fit in tubes.
