Think this is really an ounce of pure silver?

I just ordered one. I couldn't resist. This will go with my 2012 $20.00 Queens Diamond Jubilee UHR.

Well I have actually been following this "Silver Bullet Silver Shield" for a while. It is headed by Chris Duane who has put together quite an interesting series of videos on You Tube which contains some good info on silver. He makes a lot of good points, although I think he takes things a bit far in some ways, but I do agree with a lot of the things he says. Just search Silver Bullet Silver Shield on You Tube and you will have no problem finding them.

Back to the coin/medallion at hand... This is actually the 3rd one available in the series, the first coin was the Debt & Death medallion which is quite simply AWESOME! I missed out on the initial offering and must confess I paid a premium for some on Ebay - the official mintage was less then 60,000 are currently selling for $60-$75 each on the bay~
    https://www.silverbulletsilvershield.com/debt-and-death.html

The second coin was the Trivium medallion, I was able to get an order in just before the offering went off sale. The design is not as shocking as the first or current offering, but is still very nice. Not sure of the final mintage on these. Hopefully mine will be here soon but I understand there were some delays. They will also have Proof and BU-Proof offerings available which look very nice as well.

The first 2 offerings were only available for 1 month, this current design is available for 3 months so I suspect the mintage will be higher then the first two combined, especially with the design/motto, personally I love it!

As far as the question of is it an ounce of silver, yes it is. They are labeled with 1 oz .999 fine AG and are AOCS approved. If you are concerned about buying directly from them you can get them through the Silver Doctors which I believe is SDbullion.com. High premium if you buy less then 10, but 10 or more and they are the same price.

Also let me add that I have no affiliation at all to any of the sites I have mentioned, just a fan~

I would guess that what you are seeing is just the flash from the camera or artificial toning as these were just minted like 2 months ago. Congrats though, very nice!

I think he is more than making up his money on the proof and "special BU proof" issues. $15 and $20 upcharge, respectively.

I gotta have one of these too. Way awesome and a great possibility to turn a profit in the near future for those of you with the funds to do so.

While this is an interesting round and definitely worthy of it's own thread (thanks by the way), there are plenty of these to go around. Others are very rare, and someone may come across a listing on eBay or something and send me the link. - If a hot auction listing is posted out in the open on CT, the price immediately jumps high. - I will often pm auction listings to others on coins they collect, just to help them out.

"The first strike will be a Mint Direct Brilliant Uncirculated strike, priced at only $2.99 over spot.
The second strike will be the highest quality AOCS Proof strike on both sides, priced at $14.99 over spot and will be available beginning January 15th."

I should think, most certainly pure Ag. No worries. Can anyone get that 'mint rate' for dies and bulk silver planchets stamped & delivered {from Mulligan Mint}? Sounds fairly cheap to me.

I tracked the links into their affiliates: AOCS? It seems abit Norfed, but not illegal (?) The AOCS Mint is in Dallas, Texas. Chris Duane and Rob Gray (fmr Norfed employee) are principals. This is very interesting. Were you all aware of these? Some links are dead; not sure how popular ANY are.

Free Lakota Bank: Silver deposits. Really? (12 ozt of Silver per year isn't cheap $360, more than my offshore account)
Do they have online transactions, e-banking? If not, it seems pricey & for what?

I should think the CTers would already have explored minting your own coins, but that seems like an outfit to consider.

Please note 'quality control issues' other collectors have expressed, concerns/complaints with last year's coins. Learning curve? The Mulligan Mint is Rob Gray's co.
I don't know what drama is alluded to, but here's a review of other AOCS rounds:

I confess I know NUTHIN' about this collectible market. But other people pay $55./ozt for earlier ones.

Well I just got notification of shippment for my order of the second release today so i'll let you know how they look when I get em... As far as premiums, the first release debt & death is currently selling for $70-$100 each on Ebay and the Trivium release is going for $40-$45.

I must say I had a deep down feeling that another raid was going to happen and I was proven correct with todays drop~ This weekend i'm going nuts and gonna order at least 150oz while the price is down.
    Silver Rocks~

Be careful, that skeleton queen will be made for a while from what I've seen. Plus, they've been a bit slow to deliver and plan to release a series of over 12 different rounds. Not telling you what to do, but I'd tread lightly. Your ideas may vary. I didn't make any of this up, there are a couple threads about this on bullion stacker and some are not too please with results so far.

I read a few threads elsewhere. Takeaway is that most bullion round collectors are exceedingly demanding for quality. (AOCS needs to be super-mindful of that, too.)
But what about price? It seems like snivelling, for retail collectors to expect the very highest quality at the very lowest premium too.

Bullionists should see very low premium and teaser rates for what they are: minter's opportunity to unload poorer quality merch. Remember: you get what you pay for.
Expecting Perth Mint quality at Walmart prices is ridiculous.

Personally I am not concerned about the quality that much, I am just buying them as bullion. For the quantities I purchase in about the lowest premium for .999 1oz bars is around $1.50-$2.00. I have found some for less but even though it makes no actual difference, I like to enjoy looking at what I buy and am willing to pay a premium for it. In fact I recently purchased a number of different world coins in gold and silver just because they were not ASE or AGE's. As much as I am in this to make money, it is a fun hobby for me and intend to keep it that way.

I have decided to purchase these "Silver Bullet Silver Shield" medallions primarily because I agree with the message that is behind them and also really enjoy the designs they have offered thus far. If I can resell some of these at a collectors premium, then I just might sell some, but i'll turn right around and buy more of these exact same ones, or the next one, or the next one. But i'll always keep some for myself... I can say that there are a few options which I liked and were a little less expensive, but with the millions and millions of Eagles, Maple Leaves etc. they are minting, I don't ever see those selling at a premium. The Debt & Death medallion sold about 55,000, but don't think the final mintage had been announced for the Trivium medallion. Hopefully they double their numbers each time so figure 110,000 Trivium, 220,000 Slave Queen~ If that keeps up by the 6th's release there may be as many of these medallions out there to equal the US Mints lowest mintage silver eagle year in 1996 around 3,600,000!

Bottom line is it is simply 1oz of .999 fine silver and that is why I am buying them, I guess you could say i'm an Investocollectorflipperbullionista~ But as long as I can add silver to my stack before the US dollar becomes worth little more than toilet paper, that's my goal!
