As a newbie stacker, I'm all in silver at the moment with a very small (but growing) stack. My LCS is splitting up a 1994 4 coin AGE set and has a 1/4 oz that I'm interested in, however its just the proof in the original mint capsule. He's selling for $440 as of today's prices. Most unc. versions are going for north of $450+ shipping from the usual online dealers. Good deal or no? Thoughts everyone?

    Thanks in advance.

Nothing wrong with that price for a '94 proof gold 1/4 ozt AGE! If you like gold and want to increase your holdings, then this is a good deal for a quality coin, (I hope).

eh, buy a little here, a little there, and over time you'll average out over the dips. Look at the bright side, if it keeps going down, maybe you'll be able to grab another one soon under $400... :) I still think the proof at that price is a nice pickup.

    Congrats on the purchase!

    Thanks!

I have about 3-4k waiting to see when this "dip" levels out. Would to go mostly into silver with maybe another 1/4 oz gold but he's got the 1 oz 1994 AGE proof from the set as well, was asking $1750 yesterday, might check back today for the new price haha

    Sussex County.

$1750 for the 1oz proof ain't too bad either even with the dip. Heck, if he's got the rest of the set at low premiums like that I'd consider it.
