Perhaps not my place to jump in here, but Cash and Pm's are my only two choices too! I have artwork 'to burn', collectibles, etc.., and steer as far away from stock market as I can (my 401k is there, though, I guess..) It's all scary (all of the choices, and trying to figure if one has selected correctly) to me, and when I read here (each of these bullion threads/discussions) I am perplexed more and more. Great minds apparently do NOT think alike!

Having ones' assets all in one basket is very scary (as previously mentioned.) And not much looks too good!

    :) Lucy

This is all kinda funny. So what's the worst thing that could happen? I lose half my money? So silver is headed to 17 an oz? I take that gamble 8 days a week.

With a 2 year timeframe I hope it works out for you. Personally I would have preferred to know my cash will be there, plus a little interest, rather than investing in something with such a huge buy/sell spread, but to each his own.

When the ETF fails who do you think is going to get the physical gold, George Soros or your average Joe?

There is a reason he is not worried about it failing and that's because he probably has already been guaranteed he will be the first to receive metal if it fails.....

Will it fail anytime soon? I don't know, but why risk it........

Why I have no confidence in the PM ETFs.

"...Our friends at Lighthouse Investment Management point out something rather amusing: yesterday, yet another day in which the SLV saw far more notional volume than the SPY, the ETF traded 87.5% of its total shares outstanding. In other words, virtually the entire holder base changed hands." [from an old www.zerohedge.com blog]

Ah, but that is the enigma of the whole game, when something does start to look good, it is usually too late and you missed it.

Well, I was born and raised in Iowa, and spent time in the Army. Sorry Ken, I just had it bred into me. No disrespect meant of course.

Your posts and line of thought doesn't make sense. I don't know what your situation is or what you are trying to accomplish, but it is clear you haven't thought this out from an investment perspective.

You just created a trail now by stating online in a public forum you will possibly try to avoid any taxes on your sales of silver. Bad move, very bad move. Pay your fair share of taxes and honestly, dumping your whole life savings into just and only silver is a horrible move in my opinion. Diversification is the best option.

My PM of choice should "The End" be coming would certainly not be silver or gold. I would much prefer Lead.. : )

let see the number may not be exactly accurate and i am not pointing fingers intentionally just use romney as example of paying his fair share.i think i heard he made like 13 million and paid about 200k in taxes.he has most of his outside the u.s.,but i am sure he and many other people like him including businesses like i believe it was ge that paid no tax,but we should make sure we all stay completely visable.the government does such a good job with our money that we should all thank them and if you have any extra after paying your fair share by all means give it to them.

Mr. Romney actually paid 1.95 Million in Federal taxes for 2011. What do you think he should have paid?
