Wow I love this thread. It also makes me feel very inadequate about my stack, not to mention my knowledge of such variety.

Got this last night from a nice lady who was selling her grandparent's collection. She had dozens of random silver coins, us junk coins in displays, and misc other stuff; but this 1/2 kilo Monkey was what got my attention:

all it takes is time, and a lot of people here have been buying for a while. my first ten oz bar cost me $125 while some people have down to $50 in some of theirs. there are thousands of different types or bars and rounds. just start paying attention and you'll see all sorts of neat stuff.

A few more bars arrived today.:) The first is a Hamilton Mint "Our Greatest Americans" series from 1974. It is the Gold plated version. The next is a Coca-Cola Houston 75th anniversary SAB from 1977. And last, but definitely not least, is my 2nd "Cola Clan" Coca-Cola Huntsville SAB. This is a rarer bar, as only 893 were minted for the August convention in Hunstville, AL in 1977. I already have one but couldn't pass this one up for the price.:) A nice surprise was that it is serial #88, JR.;)

That Morgan is quite nice, indeed.
But I'm confused: how does a 1987 .999 Fine Silver Eagle become 'circulated'?

some people have them as pocket coins, drill holes in them for key chains, and other such things. you have to remember for a while they were 5/10 dollars so people usually didnt think much of it

I see. Can you tell me the weight loss of your pocket coin? I'm curious about that.
