I actually hope is stays here or goes a little higher in the next day or two, because I plan on selling some soon.

Congratulations! You've found us -- the people who can accurately predict future silver prices. Unfortunately, if we tell anyone our predictions, the market stops working properly, and they don't come true.

BTW, buying or selling silver counts as "telling someone your prediction".

    Aren't markets frustrating? :)

I hope it goes down so I can buy more cheaper.

I wish I had an ASE for every time someone here said that. Even when silver was $10 there were people waiting to buy it cheaper. And when it goes down, many people who wanted to buy it cheaper will wait until it goes down just a little more and miss the whole move.

That is so true. If a person is truly interested in purchasing some silver, why doesn't he/she just do it now, as there are just as many reasons for it to go to $40.00 as there are for it to go to $30.00.

Human nature is a funny thing sometimes.

At least from my experience right know in secondary markets like ebay everyone is gobbling silver and gold coin issues' as a result coins are actually going for much higher premium over spot price, this makes it very hard to bargain hunt. Where as when silver and gold i remember around July 4th when gold and silver where the 12 month lows found a lot of coins selling at or below spot price, due to low bidding activity. Thats why IMO it is best to wait till the dust settles before jumping in and buying coins, so in other words it is best to wait for a pullback.

People want a risk/reward ratio of zero, All rewards, no risk. That very rarely happens, and never to retail customers.

Maybe the best way to handle this is to decide on the price you are willing to pay. Then tell us. Probably several people here will make a note of it and remind you when that price arrives. Then we'll either harass you into buying or make fun of you if you don't [all in good humor, of course].

My clairvoyant psychic quit without warning last week. So unfortunately I have no way of knowing if silver will go up or down.

True, we never know when and where it will move next. However, if you are patient you can decide what is a better point for you. I waited out the whole +$30 thing and bought this summer some junk. I just wanted the coins, not the silver really, and at around $26 is was low enough for me to feed my buying urge. Right now I am staying away, but would buy more junk if it dipped down again.

Problem is with posts like mine above is everyone here has different outlooks, PM positions, and goals. I am a hoarder, (yeah I admit it), who has a small pile of silver, (idk maybe $3k FV US and 3 or 4 boxes of foreign), but always wants more. Thankfully coins are small or I would be on the dang show. Anyway, I am in it for the pleasure of ownership, and justify it to myself that its a hedge versus other investments. However, I wouldn't sell at $40, probably not at $50, and could probably talk myself out of it at $60. So, maybe I am just kidding myself that its an "investment" and maybe just another hobby expense. :(

I'm hoping it goes down, but I'm buying a little bit here and there because I don't know for certain where it's going.

Possibly, they have a set budget and would like to get more for that set budget. I'm in that boat. I have my eye on a canadian kilo, but I'm not dropping over a grand on it unless I stop buying nice shoes for a while. Which I won't, so I hope silver goes down.
