Well, I have a 2009, but I have always been able to easily sell any ase year for 6-7 over spot to a certain group of like 10 ase collectors
Even so, the market is still open and the price could fall back down below 35 before the day is over.
6-7 dollars over????????!?!?!?!?! The dealers here sell for 4.50 over and I feel thats high. One dealer I work with will sell for 1.50 over if you have an established buy/sell relationship though so its fine.
What I find odd, is that we have an established local dealer that sells ASE for $4.50 over spot and a new dealer that sells them for $4 over spot. We have no sales tax in MT, so that isn't an issue. Yet there are people in town who are knowledgeable on the matter and are willing to pay $6-7 over spot for them. They've been known to buy a roll for $120-140 over spot. What gives? Do they think "the man" is watching their cash purchases at coin stores? Do they not like coin stores? Who knows...
The 1996 ASE typically gets a significant premium over spot due to having the lowest mintage of all the bullion issues. TC
A shop I frequent sells the 2012 in an airtite for spot plus $9!!! I asked him about it and he said that after "labor" and the airtite they are in it for spot plus $4. Same shop sells 2012 for $4 over by the roll, random years for less.
