It's worth $30.82. But I suppose if you wanted it bad enough it could be worth $50.

lol... no doubt what the silver in it is worth, but as a collectable item it's hard to say.

I don't collect labels or plastic so I would not pay more then $1.00-$3.00 over spot price, but that's just me. ;)

Don't mean a thing around here. The boys and girls in this neck of the woods are only concerned with 'metals' value.

A MS69 PCGS 2012 First Strike was worth $41.95 to me a couple days ago. It depends on your opinion...

I can't say that paying $50 for something that, for most, people only has PM value and nothing else.

A dealer will most likely give you spot plus $1.00. Buying graded common modern bullion doesn't make a lot of sense. There are tons of 69-grade 2012 silver eagles around. It is nothing special.

Why not just buy a raw coin? Chances are you will get a 69-quality. I'm thinking that would cost around $35.00. Different strokes for different folks, but paying up for common bullion coins just because they are graded is not a good move to me.

On the other hand, you have to decide if it is worth it to you specifically.

In general, though, from an objective perspective, it would seem not to be worth it.

Just for the record, NGC stopped using the "First Release" designation several years ago after a Florida lawsuit filed in Tampa was upheld for the plaintiff. PCGS continues to use "First Release" because they are a California-based company and not affected by the Florida ruling. NGC now uses "Early Releases", but in either case, it is impossible to know if a coin was the first or last of several million struck.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

NGC still uses "First Releases" label.
What you meant to say was they no longer use "First Strike" designation.
