I don't think they'll ever amount to much investment wise, but I sure do enjoy collecting them. :)

I bought two dozen of the 2006-W, 2007-W & 2008-W when they were $20 & $22 each, but I'll be danged if I'm going to pay $46 for any of the others. Besides, I wasn't happy when they discontinued them for two years and then started up again. They can keep them!

  6. I think they will appreciate more than the yearly generic bullion ASE and maybe even the proofs, but not the reverse proofs of course. TC

Whisper to yourself "Peace Dollar", Chris. Take a deep breath and exhale slowly. Another deep breath......feeling better?

the mint might get angry. instead increase its price from $45.95 to $60.95. and give every collectors an on sale by 25% off. you save $0.24.

Chris, so did I. I got tired of them sending one coin or set, and charge S&H, then in a week or 2 do the same with another one of my subscriptions.
I just got a 2012 W ASE UNC 1 OZ for the $45.95 price + $4.95 S & H equalling $50.90 for the one coin. I ordered the (TA8) 2012 MAKING AMERICAN HISTORY COIN AND $5 BILL SET, AT THE SAME TIME. We'll see if they charge more S & H charges.

Why can't they take an order, hold onto the coins for a short specified while and send them all at one time for the S & H option you've chosen. Or, send them each, when they're available for the one S & H option you've chosen. It's not like they'll ever lose money...

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

I've ordered two or three items at a time from the mint. If they ship separately, they only charge the $4.95 on the first item, no more for the following items. The shipping charge is for the whole order, not the individual shipments.

oye. Would it be different if you odered them all one by one from the mints website?

I have done well with the Wunc eagles. got three of the '06 from the mint and sold 2 for $100 each six months later. made some on all the releases since but not near that much. enough to get my "keeper" coin about free. gonna get 3 of the '12W next week.

The skipping of years by the US Mint makes collecting this series haphazard at best. jmo/ I don't know why the Mint let this happen but it was like they were in the middle of a thought process, and got a wild hair and dropped the ball for one reason or another. The burnished coins themselves look great!! In the beginning I thought it was a great idea. I know that 2009 came around, no planchets was the story, maybe they should have went with a copper alloy or something. Of course, they didn't even mint a proof in 2009. My point is, it would be better to have one made of copper clad than to have a year completely missing a coin. Heck with 2009 they could have even made a copper clad with very low mintage numbers to keep things exciting. IDK. :D

I bought 31 of the 2011 W's cause which is now a key date coin :D also I've been buying off e-bay auctions that have been close to melt :D and one auction I bought a NGC ms69 2011 W for $42 and the seller messed up on not having that grade so he sent me an MS 70! :D as far as for investing...idk about that...but I do know I'll make money on these and it will give me some of what I have cost me nothing :D win-win

yes, the 2011w burnished unc silver eagle suppose to be a key date. but the u.s. mint still selling them. we have to wait until mint declare sell out. at the same time observe the 2012w burnished unc sales figure too. then judge this coin.
