I have been working on getting a silver 1 oz coin from as many countries around the world as I can, like the panda, eagle, kookaburra, taku, etc. I think it will be a fun little so called type set, but does anyone have an idea of the best way to display them. Is their anything out on the market right now? Also is their a website where I can pull up the diameters on each coin without going to each countries mint web sight?
I also use Silver Bullion World. APMEX also has a description section for each item where they give the denomination, diameter, thickness, etc.
Interesting. That ought to be fun. I would try to create something with rows of wood with a felt inside to display them on. Kind of like gregs golf ball display.
Working on a set of 1oz bullion from all countries right now also, here is the list I have together so far, only want ones that are minted in 2012 http://www.cointalk.com/t209544/
I would not put your shiny silver bullion anywhere near a wood product. Most wood products emit gases that will increase rate of toning. I use Intercept Shield holders and boxes. TC
I too am collecting silver bullion coins. Today the mailman dropped off a Canadian maple leaf, Austrian philharmonic, Mexico's Libertad and a Chinese panda. I have then in front of me now along with a new ASE and I am amazed what beautiful things they are! The Panda is a knockout! I took a tip from someone on this site and ordered it from Pandaamerica and ordered the rest from Ampex (another tip from this valuable forum!). The Maple Leaf is a stunning coin as well! I'm assuming this is a "reverse proof"? I've only been a member of coin talk for about 2 weeks but I've learned more these 2 weeks than the 2 years prior. Thanks to all the regular posters who give prompt and helpful tips. I am stoked on silver!
I too am collecting World silver bullion coins. I try to stick to 1oz silver coins only. SilverForLife, I really like the diversity of your collection. I have many of the same coins as you. It's nice to find another person who realizes there's a great big world out there beyond the U. S. Mint. There are a few more of us on this board also. Keep up the good work!
I picked up the Noah's Ark coin on ebay through Modern Coin Mart. It wasn't a bad price considering it was free shipping. The coin is cool looking. I haven't seen the African Rhino, where do you get them from?
Check out the whole Rwanda African Wildlife Series: 2008 - Gorilla 2009 - Elephant 2010 - Lion 2011 - Zebra 2012 - Rhino This site shows those from 2008-2011: http://onetroyouncesilver.com/index...8-2009-2010-2011&Itemid=58&category_pathway=0 Here is APMEX's listing for the 2012 Rhino: http://www.apmex.com/Product/67243/2012_1_oz_Silver_Rwanda_African_Rhino.aspx
Looks like APMEX is out. Thanks for the above info...I did not know it was a Wildlife Series. Looks like I am very late to the party One can get any coin they want if they can pay 2-5 times SPOT. I am just not that way.
Does Isreal have such a coin? I like the Britannias from England also. Yet, the prem. are kind of hefty.
APMEX has some bullion from Israel, but its way too $$$ for me. The Britannias can be has for a little over ASE from a few online places. That's how I have gotten some. http://www.providentmetals.com/bullion/silver/foreign-slv/silver-britannias.html
Thanks for the tip about the Modern Coin Mart ebay page. I usually avoid ebay because of the high auction prices, but I picked up a 2012 Libertad, 2012 Somalia Elephant, and 2012 Armenia Noah's Ark for less than on their website plus free shipping.
