The coin I would really like them to produce, given the fact they seem to be obsessed with the Eagle design is a piedfort/high relief Silver Eagle, like they did with the 2009 UHR gold Eagle.

Getting back on topic, as others have said, I don't think there will be a huge amount of cancellations, as most collectors will keep their order regardless. The canceled orders will most likely be from those hoping to make a fast buck.

As Saltysam stated, my focal point in the set is the reverse proof, so having more regular proofs is not a big deal to me.

Who would think there could be so much drama in an allegedly relaxing and enjoyable hobby like coin collecting.

I totally agree with the UHR idea, and confirm the unbearable lightness of dramatizing this.

the coin and currency set gets discount $5.00 note. and yet the price at $72.95 is cheaper than $75.00 imposed from 2012s 2 coin set. is this a good buy?.

how much the dealers going to buy from us. currently proof eagle $45.00 each and $5.00 note say $5.50 only. are we losing money on this one?.

that coin and currency set is a tough one- a lot of people will be turned off of it so the sales may be low. Does anyone know the max or the cut off date?----- ok I checked the mint site- no cut off date and no max mintage. I may go for 1 or 2 of these, that $5 has some special thing with the serial number and that may be something also. I will wait for the sales #'s a month or so into it.

I think I remember hearing it's being minted to demand, but don't quote me on that.

I agree, most collectors are after the reverse proof, it's the star attraction. So far the set is the only way to get it ................ so far.

Well for what it is worth, the sqeaky wheel gets the grease. Call 1-202-354-6675 (recording), let them know what you think. Funny how if you have a complaint its a recording, but an oder and they pick up the phone in seconds. Second option call 202-756-6468, then select option for customer relations, they picked right up, talked to a nice woman, said she was typing the complaint as I spoke. Very nice and this is where to call. They are open from 9AM till 5PM (eastern time), Please call, thanks Jim

I just received an email from Paradise Mint and one of the items was in regards to this set. They claim they are not going to offer pre-sales because of it's asking price and the large quantity produced by the mint. They feel with 2 1/2 x the 25th Silver Eagle Anniversary production, is not a good buy. In fact, they are recommending to cancel your order with anyone, if so, because the price will probably come down in the after market. Here's hoping many do that. That will keep dwindling the supply available to this market, and help keep it's value high.:)

Not canceling order, but will stop collecting ASE's and will dump all I have.

I'm actually thinking about this as well. I may pick a few of the nicest examples, just to show various finishes, and let the rest go for bullion+. Maybe trade for more ATB pucks.

I think the intact set will still do well since the reverse proof is still unique. The only losers will be those breaking the sets up to throw a new coin in a slab to hope for a 70 and a money making opportunity.

I don't care about those people anyway.

Yep, I like those ATB P's and the mint isn't messing with them, like the ASE's - although I think they're do for a price adjustment. When melt was around $175 they sold for $205, they're still $205 and melt is $136.

Wish I could continue, I like the ASE's, but I'm tired of dealing with the mint's tactics, which exploit this popular series. The latest underhanded scheme to reissue the S proof took the cake. Legally, the mint is on solid ground - ethically, they’re no better than the worst of the monopoly like mega corps out there. Hopefully the mint pays for its greed and short sighted decisions.

Mint should them directly to consumers not dealers with strict limitations on quantity per household.
