Ok lets try to keep this thread on topic this time. I think that $500 is not out of the question based on the fact that this set has two key coins with slimier mintage as the one key coin in the 2006 set.

I know some guys question the mint's tactics, but slimey mintage? Come on!

Anyhow, I don't see a raw or 69 set going to $500 for the foreseeable. I see it very close to the 2006 set, maybe better due to SF and mintage, but years to mature like $500. I can however see $350 by Christmas.

I do not see that price anytime soon. Prices of the 2006 and 2011 sets are on the decline as well. I cannot see this set being worth more than the 2006 set with the same mintage even though this has 2 uniques versus the 2006's 1 unique and 2 commons.

If you're talking raw sets, I think $250 - $350 is not unreasonable. If you estimate that the RP is worth similarly to the 2006 set, it'll be maybe $150 - 170 raw. Say the S mint is worth less, at $125 - 150, and you come up with prices in the ranges I mentioned.

Think the MS70 graded coins will go for quite a bit higher, even though people can cherrypick and send in the best. I'd guess that it would settle out at around $400 and $250 (RP and S mints), which is based somewhat off the current 2006 RP and the 2011-S price. If enough members do it, I'm sure they'll take notice (and action)

Of course I think early prices may be quite a bit lower as all the flipping sets hit the market.

I can honestly see it going up to $250. But there is a chance at $300 tops.

Strangly enough, there is no rule that says threads can't drift. In fact, they MUST drift if they are viable.

^ Big difference between drifting and going totally off topic about some irrelevant debate the entire length of a long thread.

But yeah, I get what you're saying. Sorry for the weird formatting.

this seller has sold 12 raw reverse proofs for $179.99 each. thats a little below the 2006 and 2011 reverses, but pretty close.

Holy edited. Wonder what he's doing with the S mints? Do you know if he's selling those too? Would be interesting to see at what price point he's selling them.

I'm not sure how much he is selling the proofs for.

Complete sets only go for $220 right now. Kind of boggles my mind that people wouldn't pay another $40 to get the S mint and the box as well....

Wonder if I should just sell some of my sets in the same manner right now as a presale... I have 20 sets ordered from the 1st day. was planning on submitting 10 sets, selling 10 sets. Then keeping 5 of the graded sets (hopefully get 5 sets of 70s).

I like the 2012 sets. the 2011 sets are cool but kinda big.( lengthy ).

these 2012 sets will be cool little sets.

I thought last year the pre-sale was at a lower premium. ? I'm not sure.

I think the first phase of coins in hand will do well.

    I agree 100%.

Dealers were asking for $440 to get unopened boxes from buyers. Presales started around the low 500 range i think, then went up to 600 at the start of the selling, then higher once the frenzy set in, then went back down somewhat. (IIRC)

So that was a 46% premium at the very start. $150 * 146% = $220, which is where we're at right now. So perhaps 300 or double by the time the items are in hand.

Like you mentioned, the 2012 set will be a lot smaller & portable than that huge 2011 set which barely fit into a USPS medium flat rate box. Will also be cheaper, so that might drive some collector interest.

As I've stated in another thread, I think it will settle at about $250 by the end of this year. Obviously, a graded 70 set will probably fetch more money.

I think it's really too early to tell but we will find out as we get further down the road. I feel confortable predicting that it'll sell for $250 to $300. I think it's a shame that so many people and companies are getting into the act of selling sets cheaply. The reverse proof is gonna be the coin that everybody wants, especially the collectors who have the other years. It only reasons to me that if this one sells for a low price, then the price on the other years will come down, any thoughts?

Yes, I think the price and quantity of 2012 sets will effect the 2006 RP price.

It'll take a short while, but when the Coin Vaults, HSN's and MCM's sell out all that they bought, the prices should rise to $250-$300 range for these sets. Maybe slightly higher for 70's.
