When do you think the us mint will start to ship the 2012 proof sets?

They tend to be a bit conservative in their shipping estimates, probably to avoid ****ing people off (better to give a later date and ship earlier than it). I'd guess it will be the week of 7/27/12.

20 units backordered. Expected to ship on 07/27/2012.

7-27-12 sorry - I thought you meant the eagle sets.

20 - nice score- If you make $100 each and sell them all in one auction that is 2 grand profit with minimal hassles

most coin mags have that list- like coin world or numismatic news. They may even be on their website

You can also google coin shows. There are a couple of places that list them. Also, you could try to find a coin club in Milwaukee, they should know when local shows will happen.

    Here is one link.

Btw I see the Madison show is cancelled. I would not hold out hope it will be reinstated unless they find a place outside the city limits of Madison and the little Nazi politicians there. :(

Also they usually list upcoming shows in your local craigslist.

I'm not sure if this is sarcasm or not, but I have no idea what the future price will be, only hopes that it will climb. Because of this, I had nothing relevant to the topic to post. I came to this thread to read what others thought, since there are so many intelligent and experienced people on this site. My disappointment was that there was no real discussion about price estimates. And before it comes, I am not discounting the people who feel it will be worth less than issue price. Each person is entitled to their opinion and I will read and consider them all.

I don't know but am interested, however, apparently straying off topic is too much for most people using this thread to talk about such tangential notions, particularly those who maintain a numismatic premium price watch of collectibles chat to the bullion investing forum to begin with.

Considering it was only sold for a few weeks total time period, gave you plenty of time to buy directly from the mint. ;)

I love it! "I was here to talk about the topic, but..." but you haven't given any thoughts to the topic!

Instead, you've decided to focus your two wrongs make a right as your justification for you to do as you please and criticize me for bringing a debatable issue to the thread, which is very much related to and about the effect of people's activity of 'price watching'. Some can't handle the fact that I've presented somthing that makes them uncomfortable. In bringing up the topic and talking about it they have been squirming to try to avoid seeing it addressed, crying foul in all manner of ways to discredit me but few who can definitively prove my argument is baseless or wrong in its thesis. In fact so little attention in this thread has been getting paid to offering prices to watch, not because I chased anyone away, you can see there are plenty of replies from those participating in this thread in response to my ideas presented, but rather the lack of prices of note to 'watch' at this point in time.

So if you are here to take 'jabs' at someone as you declared your mission has changed to that purpose after entering this thread, because you encountered something unexpected, an alternative view that challenges your own, maybe you should rethink your strategy to consciously decide to take jabs and ridicule me for maintaining a conversation linked to the topic. Thus far you've brought nothing remotely to the thread but your tendency to jump at the opportunity to direct negativity at others and without adding anything to the topics discussed and pertaining to coins, collecting, premiums paid (rising or falling), bullion as investment, and any effects people's attention and activity has on these same things.

My point is that your comment was irrelevant as an argument and it was easy to point out how weak of an attempt it was to try to discredit me for maintaining a discussion with the other people who are equally responsible for the ongoing discussion and length of this thread. The number of posts in a thread and the amount of pages it displays isn't supportive of anything you came here to make jabs at someone about. That you replied at all, totally lacking anything about the OP or any stray additional discussions that this thread sparked shows that you haven't anything to add. Your own comments have yet to prove that you had anything to bring to this topic to talk about.

You now even agree that your comment was irrelevant as a rebuke. That was my point and further that the posts count in the thread doesn't matter either. The only thing that I have discussed that's not on topic are the written replies others brough to me that I was off topic or attacking others. I have only replied to those in kind, and while some are at length, pointing the finger at me is your error as I have maintained much that is topical about price watching. You have not. :thumb:

Hope is a given. I hope what I buy maintains its value too and as a collectible it would be nice if others were so interested to buy it off of me for more should I plan to sell a given collectible. If you wanted to see "real discussion about price estimates" then you would do well to bring something about it to the discussion rather than expect to find it existing already for you. The facts are there is little yet to go on, and that the lull has shown other members using this forum have brought up other topics, both those that are linked to this topic, as I maintain my ideas were and those which stray, like eating lamb burgers at international locations of fast food restaurants or finding information about coin show listings and the like.

But can you try to understand how irritating it is to people, who only have limited computer time, to go to a thread they're involved in and have to wade through post after post that have nothing to do with the thread topic? A couple of asides here and there are expected but when the OT stuff goes on and on it discourages people that have something to say about the thread topic from participating.

It's really nothing more than common courtesy.

    ???

How others spend their time online is not up to me. They can learn to figure out what to read and not read. They can reply to whatever they want to. If they reply to me, then they may well get a reply from me, which could be at length. I find it courteous to be honest in replies and reply to those who are talking with me. If the length or nature of posts were such an issue then the moderators could start requiring all posts be approved before they appear on this forum, but you know what, that would kill this forum and there aren't enough moderators to keep discussions moving fluidly along in the rigid way suggested.

Krispy- in the past you have always added something with your comments but lately I have noticed change. I do not mean to be too harsh but others have noticed it also. I like that you keep us on our toes but lately......

In this topic, I've had no change in stance. I have long cautioned that posting about something that is profitable has a negative effect on what you seek the outcome to be, profitable. Likewise, I have long cautioned only minding higher and higher prices without simultaneously reflecting on low prices and averages in the same period of time. Lately is incorrect. Singling out this thread as a suggestion that I don't have something to add is further resistance to my ideas presented herein.

It is not the ideas- more the style. You seem more long winded than usual and bit harsher in tone

I disagree. I have always been longwinded and come off in a matter of fact way, because I seek to avoid employing opinions and rather look for facts to use when discussing a topic. This thread though should not be about me, and instead about the topic, so we should all strive to discuss the topics not the actual people commenting.
