Now that the sales are closed at around 250k and talking about it cant make the sales go up, how high to you think the value of this set could go? The 2006 set has around the same mintage and it hit $800 before it dropped :hail: I could see $500 by the Holidays but my bet is $300

I am astounded that the per-sale prices are above issue price

My guess is these will be going easily for $300 to $450 a set in time for Xmas. In fact someone could buy some off ebay right now, hang onto them for a couple of months and make a decent profit. Those pre-sellers on ebay right now are gonna be kicking themselves in the posteriors real soon here. I'd say within a week it will be real obvious that we stand to make a nice profit. yay, finally. :D

You guys really think these things are going to fetch and maintain those price outlooks? More power to ya. I think when all the dust settles we'll be looking at original issue price.

God love ya, I hope you're all right. :)

All I know is it's only been a couple of days, nobody has their coins yet and the prices on ebay are obviously going up. All we gotta keep in mind is the Mint has never released the way they did this time. Also, some people felt the Mint was charging way too much. All I know the reverse proofs before this one have all gone for good money. Lastly, none of us know for sure what's in store as far as the sales go but I feel happier thinking that we all scored. :D :thumb:

I have a 2.5 million dollar mortgage. Define "good money"? what you describe so far would cover my high blood pressure medication for 3 months.

Well I have a $140,000 mortgage and a if these sets go up to $300-$500 then it would pay my mortgage for a few months so to me that is "good money".

how high should the 2012s be: my calculation is:

while 1995w proof worth $3,000.00. and the 1994p proof (key date) worth $100.00. the second lowest 2012s say worth only $200.00. and the reverse proof equal to 2006w $270.00. total is already worth $470.00. and that proof 2012s can also jump more because it substitute the 1994p as the key date for the proof family. so the top price should go as high as several hundred more the the 2012s set. that's my opinion. so folks. don't sell at a price lesser than $470.00 a set. that's my advise. certainly the mint offer just close. there should many people unaware of and will keep selling what they have. (additional sets on hand). but hold on. in a few months after shipment done. we could see price go up to what it should belong. which is over $470.00 for a raw set.

p.s. not to mention that 2012s might fall below 2006w set. that's another added premium for 2012s set.

I predict that they will sell for about $250 during the Christmas buying.

"Astounded" ? What a chuckle that is!

Assuming you could only be going by various listings you glimpsed from that grand old pricing gauge of merit (<--sarcasm), eBay...

Don't believe those prices until you have a range of completed sales to draw some averages from.

How about backing up that "fact" by practicing what you preach, then report back and let us know if Santa left you coal or greenery in five months from now.

I know I mentioned "greenery" but you're not invited, you already buy too much from the Mint as is it. So you are on Santa's naughty list. LOL! Quick hide the coins, here comes your wife!!! Psyche! (JK) :D

They can be worth 1 penny for all I care. I bought one set and plan to never sell it. It's shiny and perty, that's all that matters to me. ;)

I know what you mean, rodeo. I am just an old collector who happens to really like the reverse proof style.

Remember there are two main factors that determine the aftermarket price, availability and demand. Unlike last years set, where a lot of collectors were unable to get a set from the mint, all the ASE collectors that wanted this years set could get one. I just don't see where the demand is going to come from to see a premium on this set. I think the mint had the price for these pegged about where they'll end up.
BTW, I didn't buy any of the 2012's, I didn't think there would be a flipping opportunity, but I hope i'm wrong and hope everybody that did makes lots of money.
