Guess the Mintage of the 2012 San Francisco Two Coin Proof Set

Thanks, Rick. I guess tomorrow's tally won't be very meaningful since it won't take into account orders that may yet be canceled or returned, weeks even months from now. I guess it will be useful in one sense: roughly setting the highest possible mintage. From there, it will probably decline over time (hopefully precipitously).

 

my guess is additional another 15,000 set.

The Mint will likely honor any mail orders postmarked on or before 7/5. It may take a week or more to see final sale numbers. I do not see many people canceling their orders either. It would be foolish to do so, as the aftermarket value of these is not clear yet. TC

 

That made my heart skip a beat. I had an order placed at 12:26 pm the 1st day they were on sale, which I cancelled a week ago thinking the mintage number would skyrocket past 300K-350K in the waning days. Then I impusively re-ordered at 4pm yesterday. I hope the final number is not that high because the price is kind of high for me.

 

That is still a reasonably low mintage figure--while it isn't what the 2011 Reverse Proof is, I'd still call it relatively low,and with appreciation potential to double at least.

 

it wasn't easy but i managed to not order, the begining to the end of the mint for me!

 

I ordered 2 more sets at 4:45pm from a smartphone.
No issues or lag at all in the Mint system.
Awaiting the final numbers.

2012s american eagle proof silver dollar. second lowest. while 1995w can command $3,000.00. why not 2012s ASE proof?. said $1,000.00 or $500.00 for that coin alone. only investors, speculators, big dealers and rich people can really push price to the roof. just like stock market. good news, instead it went down. bad news, instead it went up. it's really hard to say.

I'm glad that a lot of the publications kept thing a little "quiet" for us collectors as to not frenzy the sharks and stir up more sales.

Maybe that was a small help in keeping mintage a little low for this unlimited run.

I've seen a few publications come out with just hours until the cut off leaving little response time for newcomers and those unaware of the set.

 

Not sure how you're computing the 2012 set to be the 2nd lowest. The 2 coins in the set will share the 5th lowest, behind the 1995W, the 2 unique coins in the 2011 set, and the 1 unique coin in the 2006 set.
