If you're comparing it to the weaker sales after the initial surge, maybe. But, the average is around 8k, and sales were running at 6-8k in the week running up to the weekend. I'd say it was stronger due to it being the final weekend, but not really a huge spike. The first couple days was a spike, the last couple days are a spike.

The developments over the past couple of days are pretty interesting. ModernCoinMart sold out of their graded sets yesterday and have had 2 price increases since then and the coins are still out of stock.

Mint Products sold out of their graded sets yesterday also. They also had some raw sets on sale and those sold out this morning.

It's almost like the recent Mint numbers reflect the fact dealers are ordering some more because they think demand for the graded sets will continue to be strong.

What makes this so much fun, to me anyway, is the fact nobody knows what will happen definitely. It's like reading a good mystery you don't want to end.

I'm going to buy ten since the risk is low will all the time we have to cancel the order with the ship date in late September.

I think we might start seeing people start jumping ship with the cancel button if orders go much higher. I also think many sets will be returned once people cherry pick the coins and more will be returned if the price has not come up beyond issue price once the last of the coins has been shipped. I could see in late October once all the returns are counted and with Holiday demand we could see a surge in value for this set.

I think that I'm in for two more sets but I will wait until the last minute. I want to see if the post the mintage tomorrow between 3-5 PM. If it is below 235k, I'm in. Has anyone noticed the timing of the previous daily mintage updates from the mint? Do you think they will show an update before 5 PM?

july 3-to july 4 and july 4 to july 5 my guess is over 85,000 set. if the mint report its result at 3pm. then you still have few hours not counting till 5 pm closing. that will be report on july 6 at 3 pm. then you also have a lot of returning afterward. so by july 9 monday. or july 11 mint sales report. it will be more clearer. my guess for total mintage will be over 300,000. or i should said between 300,000 to 350,000.

You may be right but I'm guessing that the 4th of July holiday will knock down the sales. I'm thinking 30k of remaining sales until the deadline. It is hard to predict the big guys and how many they will purchase at the last minute though. I will be surprised if they sell 100k more by the deadline though.

Phil, I think the last productive number you'll see will be in 4 hours.

I don't think that they will post a number on the 4th of July.

    300k

Let's say they received a lot (50k) of orders the last day and the final mintages reached 300k.

Would 300k be so bad? Is it not a good deal anymore at $149 if it reached 300k?

Yeah, I think that's a great idea. You'd get a much better idea of how high the final mintage is going to be after that report. :)

I think the report comes out at 3pm and the last call is at 5pm. Should be interesting!

I don't think 300k is bad. Only 50k above the 2006 set and that only has one key coin. Since this set has two key coins the set should still sell for more then the 2006 set in a few years time.

I would not wait until 3 to order. The site could get bogged down and half the people might not get through. If you don't like the total once the dust clears hit the cancel box
