Who plans to buy this set, how many do you plan to buy and is the plan to keep them for your collection, hold for possible future sales or buy and try to flip right away. I'm still sitting on the fence....and might fall off real soon...
Hey PP, good to see ya. I'm in for one set and one set only. I don't see any point in buying more to flip as I feel the demand won't be there.
Just one here. I was fortunate enough to buy five of the 2011 sets, four scheduled for resale, but have never sold them.
With the making enough to meet demand, I don't think these will be as easy to flip as the 25th ann. set. So I plan on buying just one so I can have, at least, one reverse proof in my collection. Unless I noticed a drop in price of 2006 or 2011 rev. proof, then I'll buy one of those.
Always good to be seen, my friend. I don't think there will be much of a flipping op early on for these because of the mint to demand placed on it. We'll see how it shakes out. If you don't mind holding onto them for 6 months to a year, or even longer you might have a shot at some nice premium....
I take the opposite view about the flipping opportunity. I think it will be only the first ones to have them in hand that will be able to sell for a premium, and it will only last for a short time, maybe a couple days. Just my opinion. Also anyone want to bet that a couple of the TV guys and such will somehow be able to get theirs before anybody else? Forgot to add that I'm in for one. I considered waiting a year or so to see if maybe they'll end up dropping in price if there's a humongous mintage but I think the reverse proof will hold it's value.
I'm gonna get one to keep. I think the reverse proof is slick. I was gonna buy three, but the price is a little ridiculous to me.
I'll purchase 1 set to keep just as I did with the 25th Anniversary Set. I'm a coin enjoyer and that's about as far as it goes.
I'm in for at least 5 sets, but leaning towards 10. I'll definitely keep some for my collection and will hope the value goes up then sell the others, there will definitely be an initial spike and demand for these but premiums won't kick in until you can't buy them from the mint anymore. Sine the set will have 2 unique coins I think it is a winner... as long as the home shopping network dosen't buy a quarter million of them and the mintage stays reasonable that is...
No one can get these before the sales window closes. Shipping will not begin before very late in July.
I'm in for one set because of the price point of $150. If it were closer to $130, I might have bought 3 sets and closer to $120, I might have bought 5 sets. It will be interesting to see if this set gathers as much interest as last years 5 coin set. I'm thinking not.
Due to the unlimited mintage, most folks I have heard on the subject feel that they will fall below issue price on the secondary market. I am getting one set at mint price just to have one, but I agree with the concensus that these are losers for 'investment'.
