I think a lot of the life went out when yakpoo left. He needs to check his threads!

He left? Or is he just temporarily incognito?

Careful with the heretical posts...I think yakpoo is watching! FWIW, I think the new reverse 2012 Sac dollars will be FREE MONEY! O.K., not in the precious metals sense, but consider how iconic that indian and horse design is. Get 'em when you can! Oh, and I think we all assume the 2012 silver proof set will become available...before TOO long! I got my quarters long ago... So this thread will refuse to die...

Last I heard I heard he was staring blankly at the Mint's Product Schedule page, refreshing it over and over, mumbling something about Alice Paul.

I didn't mean gone for good. I just meant that he hasn't posted for a while. In fact, he even liked something a couple weeks ago. I think for some reason, his posts draw people in and cause them to reply. Maybe it is his use of random pictures and weird fonts that captures our short attention spans. JK as to the short attention spans, not insulting anyone.

Alice Paul is the next First Spouse coin. They typically come out in early March but they're not even on the horizon yet. RuPaul is the cross dressing entertainer. What do they have in common? Neither was a First Spouse.

Yakpoo's "like" was indeed a couple weeks ago, 3/21/12. I hope all is well.

Sales numbers for the 2011 Silver Proof Sets are still low and slow. For the week ending April 6th, sales were 565. Total sales for the set now stand at 557,215. Still 28,199 behind the final sales figure of 585,414 held by the 2010 Silver Proof Sets. The average sales for the 2012 Silver Proof Set for the last 4 weeks has been 585 per week. If that trend continues, it will take a little over 48 more weeks to catch up to the 2010 sales figure. As Yakpoo would say,"We're talkin the middle of March 2013 boys and girls".
In a few days, I'll be sharing another FREE MONEY :hail: opportunity that I've been taking advantage of for quite some time that you might be interested in. I'll need to take a few pics first to include in the post.

Hope Yakpoo gets back here soon. It's virtually impossible to even attempt to fill his shoes.

i just recently got into looking at acquiring the silver proof sets. Looks like i came to the wagon to late for the 2010's. I'm curious, how many you guys typically invest in/purchase?

Not really. They are abundent on ebay. The mint will likely change over to bullion for these coins. That means the 2010, 2011 will be 90% silver and either the 2012 or 13's may very well be 99.99% silver The 2012 silver proof mint set debuts 6/04 and the quarter set is now available. This is a great time to start

I have my silver state quarters in this album and it also holds the few national parks series http://www.jpscorner.com/mint_and_proof_set_albums.htm

Well, believe it or not, but I don't own any 2010's or 2011 sets in government packaging. I felt from the "get go" however that the 2011 set might be the winner of the two. With that in mind, I decided to put a complete graded 2011 set together. NGC, Silver, Proof 70, Ultra Cameo, Early Releases with matching labels. It's an NGC Registry Set now that's currently ranked in a tie for 1st place. NGC values the set at $750.00 the last time I looked. I also collected a few halves and dimes with the same grade designation as above. The halves and dimes are the two keys to the set because those two coins were only issued in the 2011 Silver Proof Set. Therefore when you see mintage numbers for the 2011 Silver Proof Set, that number is also the exact mintage number for the half and dime. The other 12 coins in the set are made available in other ways. Some dealers are more than happy to break the set up and you can buy the lense that contains the half and dime seperately for about $30. That particular lense also includes the cent, nickel and Sacagawea.

Not saying the 2011 is "Thee" set to get though because sales are still being made through the mint. However, at this point in time, 28,000 sets of the 2010's have been sold over the 2011's. Who knows how many of the 2011 sets were produced. The 2011 sales figures may surpass the 2010 set and if that happens, then the 2010 set will be "Thee" key set.

So, it's a gamble and speculative but fun at the same time. Good luck with the way you decide to go BIGT94z.
