$58 for an MS69 canadian wildlife moose. Is it worth it?

Discussion in 'Bullion Investing' started by ClevelandRocks, Feb 29, 2012.

  1. So this deal sounds pretty good. $58 bucks for an NGC ms 69 canadian wildlife moose. No tax/shipping (as long as you don't live in florida). My only problem is that I have been burned when ordering from paradise mint. I am considering waiting for apmex/silvertowne/kpm to post the same coin. What is your take?

I probably would pick it up, the non slabbed examples will probably sell for that much a year or two down the road.

If your speculating purely on premium then i'm going have to disagree. But, for $58, it doesn't sound that bad.

Modern Coin Mart has it for $59.00, plus $6.00 shipping, if you want to avoid Paradise Mint. I'm an avid non-slabber of bullion, so I have a built-in bias. Just be very careful of milky marks on the coins; the Maple Leafs and Wildlife series are rife with them. Ideally, it would be best if you could get a coin from somebody in person.

  6. Thanks for the replies. I am tempted to try paradise mint.... but I know I shouldn't. Treehugger, I agree with you about the canadian wildlife series. These milk stains (or perhaps another bodily fluid stain) make these beautiful coins look very cheap. Tsk Tsk.

That's not much more than unslabbed ones are going for on eBay.

Its seems fair for a graded bullion example. I just picked up one raw moose for $48. So for your offer it seems like $10 is fair.

I bought one. It came yesterday. Coin looks great. Not sold on the Canadian flag holder. It isn't bad but my other Canadian wildlifes are in normal ngc brown labels.

Really depends on what you are trying to do are you collecting coins or stacking silver, if latter i would not recommend it due to the premium over spot.

Figuring this should be readily available from LCS at $39 I wouldn't pay 50% more for a slabbed version, unless I collected the series in slabs already. However maybe pay yet another few bucks to get it elsewhere. If you were truly burned somewhere--as in, they would not give you satisfaction--why would you go back?

  14. they did eventually give me a refund after a lot of nagging. I do like their prices/free shipping.

I've purchased from paradise mint at least 3 times directly and on eBay with no problems. They always have great prices on graded current year issues.

I like to put them in The Coin World Premier Holders (smaller Peace Dollar size) 002a.jpg 001a.jpg
I also use the Tag Wizzard for these

Along that line, I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on putting my proofs, Canadian wildlife and other pretty bullion in Lighthouse Quadrums

I've also ordered from paradise online and e bay without problems. To answer your question,if slabbed coins are what you want, its a good deal. For my tastes I will buy the raw coin which brings up another issue....Where are you guys buying from???I recently ordered 5 moose coins from provident for about $37.65 each. Many other places ie goldmart and monarch have them at close to that price. So I tell you what send me $44 for each coin and Ill sell you all you want.:D
