I plan on solid stacking for the next 30 years. My goal is to reach 5-10k Oz by the time I reach 55.

And where are you going to store all that safely? I'm at a few hundred ounces and my SDB is pretty full. And heavy as crap to boot.

Indeed. 10,000 troy ounces is 686 pounds. It wouldn't be the most convenient thing to have hanging around. In comparison, at today's prices, the equivalent amount of gold would weigh ~14 lbs.

Yes, I agree with Merc concerning the problem with stocking silver; it takes up a bunch of space compared to gold. But I know it is very hard for some of us to save for a single gold coin when we can keep buying silver.. lol.

That's why gold is the metal of kings. Silver is for us regular folk without a heavy bankroll :D

Help me with the math. How many times face will 90% be at with silver at $40 and also $50?

Multiply spot times .715 to get your silver value of 90%...

$40 spot would be $28.60 for a dollar face of 90%

    $50 spot would be $35.75...

I never knew how to do that calculation. Thank you.

Really though I haven't really thought about it. I have a few secret locations, some of it will have to be burried or well hidden. Currently I use a SDB, but don't have that much bullion. Eventually want to sell it all off and travel around the world.

agapr11.gif end of april 2011 silver was at $49+
auapr11.gif end of april 2011 gold was at $1540

so since april of 2011 gold has risen +$240 . gold at about $1780 today

since april 2011 silver has fallen -$12 . silver at about $37 today.

is it time for silver to catch up ?

IMO Silver is due for a quick burst in price uptick, then a sudden downfall, then a massive uptick. I'll be unloading at 45$ an oz, rebuying at 30$/oz and then unloading again at 75$ an oz.

Hmm. I don't see where there would be any difference. I'm reminded of this question. "Which weighs more - A ton of feathers or a ton of rocks?"

Good point....and silver is more "liquid", I presume

But you can't buy a ton of gold for the same price as a ton of silver. ;) If I could go out today and do that you can believe I would do it.

It's all how you look at it. Silver was overbought in April 2011. If you look at the start of this year silver is on a tear compared to gold, and maybe gold is due for some catch up now. No way to know for sure. I contend that silver is grossly undervalued because there's so little of it available, but that doesn't mean much to a market that trades IOU's of silver.

My offer to sell you all my silver for just half of what you said silver is actually worth still stands.

What 24 hours can do. Silver is on a tear again just in the down direction. Down $2.20/ounce.
