Can I have both of them? :p

  4. Wait a minute here yakpoo:

    1000 Troy ounce silver rounds = 1000 x 31.103 grams = 31,103 grams

    3000 Presidential dollars = 3000 x 8.1 grams = 24,300 grams PLUS
    3000 Roosevelt dimes = 3000 x 2.268 grams = 6,804 grams = 31,104 grams

Clad coinage has to be used to counterbalance as any silver would be suspect, so I get to marry one of your daughters. Wait, I am already married.. Oh well. :smile TC

So, the 2011 Silver Proof Set mintage is 35,000 behind 2010.

But the 2011 silver quarters are 170,000 behind the 2010 issues. 688,835 vs 859,417. In fact, they are well behind even the 1999 silver state quarter mintages (of 804k?).

I saw that earlier today. I don't recall ever seeing a time where the Mint didn't have at lease one (1) projected release date...for something!

The Mint released their pricing of 2012 Annual sets on January 20th. My guess is that the Mint is undecided what to do. The 2012 Annual sets are three (3) weeks overdue (as compared to last year).

They drill it in our heads that executive talent, commands excessive compensation.:bart: If they can't figure this out, I just can't wait for the next A25.

IMO I would release the 012's ASAP and get the program back on a normal time frame. It appears they intend to avoid melting as many 11s as possible and then switch the 12s to "just in time" production. If I'm correct, it will be a real horse race for the KEY date - 11 or 12.
:secret: (I'm betting on the 12s)

Well, call me selfish, but I guess I'm rooting for the 2011 Silver Proof Set. :hail: And call me a lousy photographer. The empty paper towel roll used to prop up the coins............ is somewhat un-cool.:(

LOL. :D No. No, they came from different sets from all over the country. The Olympic and Chickasaw qtrs. were difficult to find. The Hayes Dollar is almost impossible to locate and once you do, better pull out a fat wallet. Could have completed the set much quicker if I hadn't wanted matching labels. Had the best luck finding what I needed in Florida.

Yes, I believe there has been alot of "re-figuring" involving the mint lately. And it seems that what was "formerly planned" has been put in the "Wait a minute, wait a minute, what's going on here?" file. This might be why there's a delay of some products. I'm wondering what effect the lack of having a Mint Director is having on this. Maybe none, maybe a great deal. I don't know. But obviously there is a lack of direction, which tells me there's a lack of leadership.

Hmmm...we usually get the Mint sales report on Wednesday (vs. Tuesday) during a "Federal holiday" week.

    Well...today's Wednesday...where's the frigg'n report??

Mint's schedule has been updated. But nothing on the silver proof set yet.

  19. What the heck is the "Birth Set" coming out 3/13? TC

LOL!! I was thinking the same thing. I thought the "Silver Proof Set" WAS the "Birth Set". Does this mean the Silver Proof set has ended?!

The Mint just shifted the release date of the Annual sets to January last year. We have the Mint's release schedule into May and there's not a PEEP about Silver Proof sets. I'm sure the Mint will fill in other products (such as First Spouse coins and "yes", Silver Proof sets) as time goes on. It's just interesting that they've waited this long to release them...and they continue to wait.

Btw, where did you get the sales numbers? ...I don't see them.
