If you decide you want to part with 1 of them, I will be happy to purchase it from you and assume 35% of the RCM shipping charge also.
Can't beat the price of the polar bear 20$ coins. I just bought some yesterday along with a 1/2 oz silver dragon. Can't wait until these are delivered. Too bad I couldn't buy more of these beauties! I even talked my parents into buying some of these too. You can't really go wrong with these. Keep on stacking!
I just ordered 3 & charged $12.99 for shipping. But what the heck! I ordered 3 of the Canoe's awhile back, but the order was cancelled the next day, saying that they had sold out.
WOW! I need these ! :binky: http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/20-pure-silver-commemorative-coin-polar-bear-2012-prod1230021 http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/12-ounce-fine-silver-coin-year-of-the-dragon-2012-prod1190016 http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/15-fi...diac-coin-year-of-the-dragon-2012-prod1140002 55.22g total $161.82 includes shipping In 5-7 days I'll have 'em. Now I have to sell a kidney on ebay.
Loadin' up.. Order complete! Bought 3 and had my gf buy 3. So 6 coins bought and shipped to address in Ontario for under $127. Not bad...
Each one is .9999% silver and weighs 7.96 grams. So, as of Jan 31st, 2012- $8.49 worth of silver. Or $20 face value!
I should have told you that you can order the new quarters also. You can order 3x 12 quarters in total which brings your total to $69.00 along with the 3x polar bears. I just ordered by using this method and it's free shipping and I am buying everything for face value.
I don't need the quarters. I tried the code geodec11, and it didn't work. Even with another half ounce coin added to bring the total over $70, and being shipped to Ont. Doesn't really matter. I can live with $1 shipping per coin!
It's a good deal (12 quarters for $3 plus the 3 polar bears, total $63 with free shipping). But they only ship the quarters to Canada. Did anyone find anything for US orders? $12.95 is too much for shipping.
I would really like to know why geodec11 isn't working...I'm in he USA maybe that's why...but is there some way to get free shipping on these to the USA? any codes? also it sucks I can't order the quarters...I would totally order those on top of 3 polar bears and a 1/2 ounce dragon...
The 20$ Polar Bear is a "no lose" for our neighbors up north. 20$ cost for 20$ face value. But the RCM does not list them as legal tender or should I say circulating coins. The PBs show 9999 purity. The 8$ slv content means nothing since you didn't buy the coin, you exchanged another median, be it paper or credit card for the same amount of "face value" in PB coin. USA has to account for shipping costs. On the other hand, the two dragons 1/2 ounce 10$ and the 1 ounce 15$ are both .9999 SLV and near exact weight. They come with serialized COAs are overpriced and do not show purity on the coin. Anyway I bought 1 of each simply because I like them, and I'm manic these past days. It certainly helps rationalizing the expense over bulllion.
That's the same thought process I was going through, although I haven't purchased anything yet. If you live in the U. S., it's not a good deal monetarily. I'm thinking, given that, you would have to really, really like the coins to purchase them. As you said, if we were Canadian, it would be a no-brainer. Anyway, I like the design of the polar bear and the symbolism of it trying to keep its head above water and avoid extinction. I also like that 1/2 ounce silver dragon. If I have a moment of weakness in the next couple days, I may just get both of those.
FYI http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canada-1-2-oz-Silver-2012-Year-Dragon-10-Coin-/220943335199?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item33713fbf1f 18 hours remaining w/14 bids = 29.95 RCM price. Mintage 588,888 and the mint still has them for sale. The 15$ dragon has a BIN of just 10$ over mint The 2012 PB 20$ coin going about 30$ +4.50 shipping (within Canada) .
It's funny you mentioned the 1/2-ouncer. I've had that listing on my ebay watch list for a couple of days now. We'll see what happens. Still not sure about the polar bear. The $15 ouncer is nice; did you get the scallop or the round? Thanks for the info.
I bought the 20$ PB, 10$ Dragon and 15$ Dragon all round, I wanted a trifecta. Two sayings, buy what you like or buy what nobody wants. And one of those is the 2010 $150 Year of the Tiger with a mintage of 2500. (still available) and yet the 11 and 12s had immediate sellouts. The Canadians have an eye for beauty, and prove mintage numbers must be supported by demand to create value.
