i cant help it :/ history took its toll ..

can somebody correct me if im wrong.. these are the dates i went looking for when i went thru all the dimes and sad to say didnt find any

    1916-D
    1921
    1921 D
    1926 S
    1942 & 1942D (2 over 1)
    1964 Double Die Revers

please list any more that i have missed if i did.... sad to say i have gone thru this collection 2x for dates i have been told to search for and all i have found is

    Walker 1916
    1917
    1919
    1938 D

    Roosevelt Dimes

i found 1964 D but i cant tell if its a double die reverse. (will get them checked)

then the 25 AU quarters i have to get checked along w/ the 6 frankies

also found only 6 1943 zincs pennies... didnt find a copper one yet :/

other than that.. i found nothing of collectable value.

    Hey Log Potato,

If we mixed all our halves with his piles, we could roll in them like Uncle Scrooge McDuck :hail:

Nicer Walkers (fine or better) 1916 thru 1933-S should be worth several dollars above silver melt. 1921, 1921-S, 1921-D (3 key dates - any condition)

the 1917s have OBV mintmarks & Rev mintmarks

1917 D obverse.. very nice.. are they hard to come by blzar?

    the dates for the walkies i looked for are;

    1916
    1916s obv
    all the 3 1921 like u said
    1938 d

everything else is around 7.00 collectable value im told..

it took me around 4 weeks to go thru them all but sadly i didnt find many happy dates

what would u grade the quarters i showed.. those have amazing luster for those years and shine very nicely are they something to turn my attention to?
i can show dates tomorrow if it is worth it for a rough estimate if it is worth my time

i am assuming you only have inventory of coins well worth above melt value.. u do not suggest i keep track of all my dimes and collection, as i only have a handful of ones that may need to be appraised.

the first part of the inventory is looks very nice, the prices are high.. i like that.. u have those key dates.. unfortunately i dont have many :/ all though i have a few that are nice, everything else is scrap pretty much

i would like to get into this alot more and go out and buy key dates but i am not sure i will ever be able to re sell them for a high price..

i can only imagine HOW MUCH you guys have had to pay to buy your collections if you did.

oo yeah i monitor coinflation every day as well as kitco and 24hourgold.com

Better way of saying it. Had the same intuitive feeling when I first read this. Well of course, that's coz we love coins :). The grandfather sure have this......, dunno what term to use,,,,PASSION perhaps, LOVE..... What do you call a person who holds a coin and stares at it for hours? Maybe it's just me. I don't know about you guys, but I have done that (unknowingly).
Anyways, just like Caz stated, "But of course I am not you, so I have just to be jealous". :)

my grandfather i believe was into it when his father was alive.. but the will said he has not touched the coins in 20+ years.. so basically 61 years old he stopped. the only things he bought recently for me were the un-circulated rolls of states between 99-08 or whatever year they ended...

Do any of those Morgan dollars have CC mint marks (on the back, near the bottom)? Those are worth a significant amount of money.

sadly they do not.. i only have one w/ a mint mark it is a 1886 O and 1886 S but not in VF condition so im not sure if they are worth above Face Value or not

It appears that you have spent some time and learned a lot already. I am a circulation collector and yours looks like mine as far as condition goes, but mine is mostly clad instead of silver. It can be disappointing to have lower grades when everyone wants to compare what you have to the higher grades. I had to resolve that I have what I have through search time and effort, not by just monetary investment. A decade ago I determined to convert my duplicates and lowest grade stock into better grade specimens or missing dates. It has been a long, slow process. I started with less than half of my coins in series or type albums and this month I now have all denominations over 70% and 75% overall. To put it the other way, I started with over half of my collection raw and now I only have 25% raw. At the same time I went from about 1500 coins to 5100. I attribute most of that to the explosion of modern types (cents, nickels, quarters & dollars) since 1999.
I wish you well and hope you get much pleasure learning more about these crazy coins.

So did it turn out to not be 4000+ mercuries, but rather a combination of mercuries and roosevelts?
