I keep checking MCM. A few weeks back they were $840, then sold out and now $799 OGP - no sealed boxes. If a new set becomes available in 2012 with 200,000 and 2/household. The profits of flipping will be slow and low. The 25th will become the rockin chair story of our old age.

New set in 2012 with 200k and 2/ household?? Is this speculation or is there something coming I haven't heard about?

    I'm happy.
I bought five sets, had them all graded at NGC. Three sets of 70's, one set of 69's and on set mixed 69 and 70.
I sold the mixed set and a 70 set, getting all of my original investment back.
Now I have kept a set of 69's and two sets of 70's, getting them essentially for free.

Since this is a price watch thread, tell us what you sold them for. There are no guarantee's for what you bought and sold each at.

Do you guys know if NGC will give the 25th anniversary label to unopened boxes like PCGS will? I know First Strike isn't available....:rollling:

Still sitting on my 5 unopened sets. Can't seem to pull the trigger in any direction. I have noticed that the price for 5 unopened sets is topping $4500 on ebay. Any advice for me at this point? Thanks.

BTW I still haven't opened my 20th anniversary sets either. :(

I still sitting on 5 unopened sets and 5 NGC graded sets. I'm watching for fewer & fewer being offered for sale to see if the prices go up higher.

Oh they'll go up. I sold two at FUN back in January and the dealer was willing to pay $625 a piece. He's lookin' down the road for sure......

First of all, I don't think our advise will be a deciding factor; unless we propose some new outlook that you haven't come up with on your own. If you feel you can't pull the trigger, indications are, you will still have them for some time yet. Possible affects on your decision will be: Your age. Whether you plan to pass them on as an inheritance, and to some degree, if you suspect the inheritors will continue with the collection or simply liquidate it without giving it much thought. I think until a need or better opportunity comes along, you will sit tight. IMHO.

Once you open it everything changes :p But seriously, if I could do it again, I'd send in the whole thing to PCGS. Then mix and match and see what you come up with. Sell a little if you want, crack some open and put back in OGP if you want, etc. I'm not much for looking at cardboard boxes. Throw a loupe on it, and you just see brown paper.

I'll search for others and edit them in.

My original thought was to wait 5 years for the 30th because the demand can not now be guestimated. The market could very well be defined if 2012 has a 2or3 set with 200,000 and 2/household.

    How about another 1 day sell-out! Cha-ching!!!!

    I have a sealed too :D
But it's driving me nuts as I want to see them and it takes up almost 1/4 of a large SDB lol

I bought five sets as collector/investor. The sealed box was stored out of daily view. After about a month I decided that collecting was more important then investing (I should have bought two different orders One for collecting the other for investing). Sent the sealed box off to NGC got 'em back and I really enjoy holding them looking at them under a high powered magnifying glass, sorting sets. Buying some more individual coins to make NGC MS/PF70 sets. I wasn't getting any pleasure from the coins in a sealed box but I sure get pleasure now from the graded coins.

FaceBook as an investment? Early retail investors could get hurt bad or make some big buck eg Google. My Money is not going to FaceBook 'til the initial offering settles down some.
Unless they make some dumb moves I believe it may eventually have an impact on the Internet that is similar to Google.

Add me to the holding list - still sitting on 1 box of 5. Somewhat regretting selling the other but then again I sold it for $3500 about a week after I paid $1500 for it, so I'm not gonna complain!
