I bought a 1oz Buffalo and its wrapped in this awful plastic from the mint.
Would I be taking a risk for resale by removing it from this damn wrap and putting it into a air-tite?
    What do you guys do?
With all the talk about knock offs I'd think I would be better off leaving it in the mylar but It doesn't play well with the others in my case with that darn wrapping.

    Any thoughts?
    The wrap looks like this.

I would airtite it but try to remove it carefully and save the plastic so if you ever go sell it you can put it back in it.

You can't put it back in by design. once the seal is broken there is no way to re-seal it. I doubt that anyone could acquire official US mint sealing sheets and what ever they use for a sealing process.

This is a bullion coin. Leave them in the mint packaging and put them in a safe.

Send it to be graded, problem solved. :D

A sometimes overlooked advantage to graded bullion is the authentication.

I'm not sure what motivates a party to pay for a slab on a modern bullion coin. However I'm glad they do it because....

The biggest advantage is when they come back MS69 or less and they show up at vendors selling for less premium than the raw coin at a major dealer like AMPEX. I've picked up several coins this way because apparently, it would seem, that nobody figures you can just cut these coins out of the slab if need be. I leave them in the slab because they are easier to get rid of like this. I toss them in an envelop with no expectations beyond bullion and put them away.

Of course this advantage is to the next buyer.

    Bahhh...
I just ordered a direct fit air-tite. That baby is coming out! :)
I'm not into slabbing bullion. It will just sit in the safe but it will look nicer and actually fit in my storage case without the candy wrapper its currently in.

    Thanks for the advice.
