My friend had a birthday lunch today at a sushi restaurant - very good food, and I saw a few people I haven't seen in years. Very good day <3 I realized, last minute, I had not gotten him anything... oops! Well, we'd been discussing gold and silver values and markets recently, just for fun, but he didn't think he could afford to buy any physical gold... although he was interested. He said he may be able to pick up some silver, if it drops a bit more, though. Long story short, I went through my gold, and sure enough, I had a Krugerrand from his birth year :thumb: I wrapped it up, wrote a sappy note, and gave him his first piece of gold for his birthday. Now I've infected him with the dragons' hoarding virus... lol! I fully expect him to buy his own second piece within 2 months... Short story long, anything by Dickens.
Wow! Very generous, giving a Krugerrand out of the blue. Though I would love one as a last minute gift, I don't see myself just giving gold. Props to you though!:thumb:
November for me, Ruby Tuesday would be fine for lunch, sappy card would be fine. Please add me to your birthday list. (Just kidding..that all must mean your friend is very special. Nice.)
Khay, we have a great Japanese place here in Panama city, it's called Mori's, they make a show out of cooking and preparing the food, and the Philadelphia rolls are out of this world! We should go some time. BTW my birthday is April 22nd In all seriousness, that was a great gift and a great way to introduce your friend to gold as an investment, and coins in general!
