They are a beautiful box...nice brown and the glimmer of the tape almost brings a tear to my eye.
Oh and that ceiling white label looks crisp too.
But as for what's in there? No idea yet. Only a TPGer will know and tell me soon lol

Tear the box open Duke and relish the moment. Touch the warm, smooth, reflective box which contains the beautiful works of art crafted by the mint, therein. Savor the first look at awesome beauty as you gingerly open the hardwood box.......

You're never gonna experiance that, are ya........:)

:) Just can't resist rubbing it in.........

Though I daresay you fellows who sent in the un-opened boxes will realize much more appreciatively than I will, nothing will replace the moment when I first tore opened......lovingly broke the tape.....of the package. It was better than sex. Then again, I'm a lot older than most of you guys and I forget what that is..........

I'm waiting to open my one set for Christmas morning, maybe I need a little of your maturity. (And it's not easy waiting)

Okay, what I need are the deep thinkers on this one. I have been offered a trade. My three mint collector hockey pucks (5 oz'ers) for an open set of 25th Anniversary Eagles. He will add $50 cash money. There are some unkowns here, being an open set and I won't see them until after the deal is done. I have countered with $100 cash money plus the same coin trade. Am I pushing it or is it smart in case the Eagles have noticable flaws. He has sent pictures but can you really be sure? The pucks are Arkansas, Mt Hood and the Grand Canyon. Need opinions. I probably should have started a new thread on this one.

"I won't see them until after the deal is done." no dice. end of story.

plus it's 5 ase oz, three of which are common coins you can buy outside the A25 set for 15 oz of pucks, with even lower mintages than the A25 set.

No, no, and no. No trade. Apples and oranges I think. I would suggest trading for PF/MS 70 graded coins, but not an open OGP set, if I understand this trade properly.

I 'm not sure if it will be balanced by the collector value on the 25th Anniversary pieces. Just by weight against the silver content, it doesn't appear to be a good trade. However, that 1995w is only one ounce of silver. The pucks seem to be loosing momentum so I am not sure where they will end up in collector value. It's the "not in hand' verification part of the deal that's the real worry. Perhaps better safe than sorry is also a better option than ownership. I was thinking it may be my afordable way to get a set.

I don't think that it's that bad of a trade if you don't have a set.
But get the $100 and his word that you can redact the deal if the A25 set is of a bad quality. IMO

There are a lot of unknowns for sure Sam. If you are at all doubtful of the sight unseen side of this, back away. IMO.

The ATB might be a good sleeper series, in one way or another, numismatically or bullion value alone depending on the unknowable future of the ATB program, its mintage levels and spot prices if commodities stay in a bull market. It's too soon to declare such a new program a flop or over for collectors. We need a few more years worth of coins out to see how it's going to play out. The ATB coins though are a serious drain on the pocketbook, just to obtain a whole set will be very costly. The ATB coin launch was bungled and put off many people, as did the land-grab for low mintage coins. It simply taxed a lot of collectors in a big way, in a year with an exciting ending, the A25 sets that have been so fawned over and easily profited from. This too will die down and time will pass with fresh perspective on both series highlights and importance. I wouldn't discount the ATB series yet is all I'm saying, especially since the ASE series is such an easy one to eclipse other coin news.

Now if you can trade a few sets of A25 or some pucks for a 95w ASE.... LOL!

Matt is offering that deal right now.
He wants 8 A25 sets for the 1995 5 coin set that include the gold...
Not bad if you got multiple sets.

Shoot! I only ordered 2 A25 sets. Better luck next time I guess, at the 30th anniversary. :D

This deal didn't happen, so I'm back to being an observer. The pictures were not clear enough for me to pursue it further. I am curious to see what the final cut-off will be compared to my order number. Back to just lurking.

Monday is finally around the corner. My 6:04 order has got to be so close. If anyone gets an in stock and reserved this week, please post with time and order number. It's the only thing that keeps us backorder people going. I hope that all of us who haven't received an outright cancel notice are still alive.
