Holy crap, AANtv.com(channel 324 on directv) is selling unopened boxes of 5 sets for $5500 and raw single sets for $1195. I don't know if they're blowing smoke but the they said people were buying them and they're down to one unopened box of 5.
I bet your 552 a day average is pretty close. I just counted the number that actually sold on one page today and came up with 111 full sets in various quantities. In all, 5.5 pages of them went just today. So if there's 111 sold per page, that's approx. 610 sets sold just today on ebay. And the day isn't over yet. People are going nuts for these sealed boxes. I thought they'd be coming down but they're going up. The TPGs and their 70 grades have gone to peoples heads. Ebay and the TPGs are the real winners here. Although I did see somebody bid $1200 on a pre-sale for a set of 69s with early release labels. So I guess if you got all 69s, you could still make money at $4200 for a sealed box.
Oh yeah! (As in the theme song from "Weird Science") That one element is the National News Media. Once this makes the news, the general population will be like throwing gasoline on the fire!!!!
I still will not sell for less than $1K each- I just do not need the money that bad. Really selling for less than $1k each is like selling bullion silver eagles for under spot- it just aint gonna happen.
The way things are going right now you may not have a long time to wait. Or it could just flatline, but I don't think it will before the first of the year.
Moderncoinmart has upped their prices again: open box $1,099 NGC 69 $1,399 NGC 70 $2,999 Clicked on the order quantity on the open box and it indicated only 1 in stock. NGC 69 had 1 in stock and the NGC 70 had 7 units in stock.
ebay is at about $4500 for a sealed box of 5. sellers with no feedback are getting significantly less. We will probably see $5K before the weekend.
Good news to my ears. Anyways, when is the due date for "special" labels and so on due for the graders?

I was on at 11am and bought 5 sets. Then got an email last week saying the sets were over sold. No coins for me. Just saw on craigslist here in KC someone selling their lot for $4250. Too pricey for me. I'll wait for prices to go down.
LOL this guy did an x-ray on his package http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-SEALED-UN...40?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item4cfbe0304c
Bought 3 and sold 2 of them yesterday on the bay for $789/ea. Thinking these might go up a bit more in the short term but no going to sweat a couple hundred either way. Mission accomplished in my eyes got my set for free + $450 profit that I can reinvest into other products.
The "S" mint marked coin is starting to sell for $400, that's crazy. Same guy selling the reverse proof for $450+ ship. He also has a box of 5 for 4600. I guess these sets can only go up higher and higher.
Mint Products has 'em. I just got an e-mail. http://www.mintproducts.com/product.php?productid=18004&cat=23&page=1
Sales Chart I've been tracking ebay sales of single sets, sealed in original mint packaging. As of Thursday at 5pm central there have been 100 sets sold. Blue line is individual sales, black line is moving average of previous 15 sales.
the sets are bringing more when broken up. between grading and breaking up sets to sell individual coins there we may have already seen a large percentage of sets destroyed.
