I got my 2 sets on Monday, they are now on their way to NGC (was hard not opening). So, I'll be saying goodbye tp let you all keep abreast of the order numbers. One last thing, I had to join NGC to go for certification. The joining process and the submittal process is pretty easy. The registered mail requirement is a pain. The correct tape, etc. Wasted a whole night packing box to be safe and found the tape was wrong, has to be a specific postal tape. The requirements are to protect the coins and to not allow anybody access to them, they are actually locked up each night on the way to delivery. Also quite expensive. Just wanted to mention in case any of you go that route. Don't waste the time I did, get the stuff as required by P.O. Back to coins, good luck to you all!!!

What is it costing you to get them graded and how much was shipping?

    What do people think:

With gold AGEs, AGBs if they are graded MS69 they sell for about the same as the coins in their original mint packaging.

I wonder if that will be true for the ASE 25th anniversary set?

Mine was for 5 sets, but it costs about $85 per set, plus return shipping at about $35, plus an $8 submission fee, plus $39 to join NGC. To ship 5 sets via registered mail was about $60. I also will get my OGP returned for $1 per set, plus additional shipping fees. The total should be about $550 for 5 sets.

I wonder what percent of the coins are graded as 70s? If the MS69s sell for the same price as coins in OGP I wonder if it's worth it to have them graded?
OTOH, I'm running out of storage space and realize the convenience of storing the slabbed coins.

I thought I was done. Real quick. @ sets plus membership was $206. Shipping Registered mail (required) was about $55. Headaches, can't put a cost on it. I also bought cheapest membership cause you can't use the free coin offer until you have vouchers in hand (was told it would take about 2 weeks to receive). Vouchers have special rules attached so I figured that paying the extra $70 wasn't worth it and upgrading is available if I go Big time (yea, I'm sure).

It seems grading adds about $115.00 per set.
I really do like the ease of storing slabbed coins.
How do you rate the OGP quality wise? Is it wood?

I can't tell if it's wood or not, seems and smells like plastic. Really nice though, vevlet removable coin capsules and tray, nice COA, real box inside cardboard box inside sleeve.

    "Really nice though"

That makes the decision tougher. Out of five sets I wonder if it'll be possible to mix and come up w/ a 70grade set.
do the graders assign consecutive #s to coins in a set??

Watched a sealed box of 5 sell for $4260 on ebay tonight. There is another sealed box with 13 minutes left currently going for $4251. What is driving these prices up????

You can get them back with the graded coins, the boxes alone seem to be selling for $40+ on eBay. 69s or lower can always be cracked out and put back in their original capsules and then into the box.

I think the prices are going up because more people are speculating and also they think that the price will be higher later, so they try harder to win and more people are bidding.

I'm thinkin' wood. If you rap on the bottom of the box (minus the coins) it resonates like wood.......

Available flipping supply might be drying up soon as the mint winds down on shipping sets.

If the prices were going to plummet, they'd have probably done so by now.
