The flood came! I don't know when the crest will be but there's 160 sets on page one. 6 more pages of them after that. Probably around 1% of the mintage is on ebay today.

I was being sarcastic about the price. Graded coins won't fit back in the original package. HSN over-prices their coins and often "throw in" these boxes. ANACS is regarded as a borderline top tier TPG. HSN uses them exclusively so they must be under some kind of agreement or contract.

You got a great price for your set. I sold three sets today for an average price of $710.

What I can't figure out is that there are several hundred 25th Anniversary Sets up for sale, and some folks get $900/ set and some get $700 or less/ set, for the exact same commodity.

The buyers can not tell if the coins in one set are any better than the coins in the next, yet, even with an almost endless supply, people bid up some sets, even though the set which is scheduled to sell 5 mins latter, is priced $50-$100 less.

I am very happy with the money I received, I'm just trying to understand what the purchasers of these sets are thinking.

I put the profit that I made towards a tube of 2011 ASE. So for a total of $360 out of pocket, I have two 25th Anniversary Sets, and a tube of ASE. It was a very good day! I would like to thank the US Mint. This was Fun!

yeah ebay is always a crapshoot , i some times see 2 auction end back to back with a price difference .you did good. its nice to double your money to help pay for the ones we have. we put a lot of work into this. I have also sold stuff on ebay and lost money so you just never know some times.

Just a headsup. I broke a set up into (3) lots on eBay. (1) reverse proof.
    (1) s-mint uncirculated.
And the other 3 coins included with box and coa. Auction is still on (4 days left) but all three lots are totaling over $900.

I broke down and sold a box of 5 sealed, got $3999. Not 100% sure but I think that is the highest price sold for 5 sealed so far. :D

The supply continues to increase and I don't think prices will continue to grow with supply for a short while.

I know this might be a funny question but did anyone track statistical data for the 2006 sets on eBay? I'd be interested to see how prices changed over the first couple weeks with changes in supply.

I'm still in limbo about sending only my "S" and "RP" coins off to NGC...

Thanks to everyone for the "likes" on my video. Glad you enjoyed it.

Came across this on eBay today...three items from the same seller with 10, 10 and 15 bids respectively, all at the same price ($700.01)...pretty strange:

I just watch a few sets ending in the past few minutes.

    $ 869, $721, $719, $ 721

I believe the price will settle between 450-700. It will also spike right before Christmas. After which for the next five years I believe it will flat line around 500. And then comes the 30th Anniversary. With 5 years of inflation and the demand this set had, I believe the mint will produce 250,000 at $699+. Anyone sitting on a 25th unopened mint box of 5 sets may just get 10 Grand.

Oooooo-please let my 5pm order find it's way into my hands. In the mean time I have one coming from ebay to drool all over.

I totally disagree-once the flippers exhaust their stock this set will skyrocket

I think you would be right if prices skyrocketed upward from the beginning. They haven't. Throw out a couple of extremes, and look at 98% of sales. They are selling at about the same rate from day one closes as today. $750 open set. $850 closed set. I've seen closed sets not draw a bid at $795. If this were flipper mania the prices should've have shot to $1,000 by now. This flat line indicates no mass panic buying. Which further indicates prices only have one way to go...down.

at some point in the next 2 weeks supply wll dry up and there will be far fewer auctions for these coins- at that point watch out

I agree Danr. It's really simple supply and demand. If the main buyers right now for five sets, sealed or open, are dealers then the true collectors aren't really getting in. Even for single sets this could be the case as well. In a few weeks, collectors are going to still be looking for these but the main flipping market will have started to thin out.

There are some two million silver eagle collectors by most accounts, yet you have 100k of these sets. If a true collector wants a complete set they need these two unique coins included here. I believe with that kind of demand remaining for a long time any set that shows up on ebay will do very well over the long haul. Sure auctions a month or two from now may not have as many bidders, as dealers will have tried to secure their supply, but get a few true collectors bidding on one auction and the prices may end up higher.

The 2006 set sells for about 3.5 times its issue price on average when I was looking the other day. Even if you knock that down to 2.5 to 3x issue price for this set (a set that's also 2.5x rarer by mintage numbers) that puts this in the range of $750 for the long haul.

Where in the world did you conclude dealers are the main buyers???? Look on the other coin board BST. Dealers are buying these for $500. Name one dealer paying $850 a set. These Ebay sales have been to collectors.
