Really! I'm just forgeting about them until it gets closer to the ship date. It is interesting though, getting a preview of prices rising on eBay as the sets artificially dry up.

Supply and demand SQG. It is interesting though, I agree. I think we'll see the market get flooded with quite a few sets shortly after ship date.

How long do you guys think is will really take for the flippers to settle out? I anticipate that we'll have a solid 500+ eBay auctions for complete sets going for at least 60-90 days after people start receiving coins.

As soon as one person receives coins, others will start re-listing again, huh?

I'm sending mine for grading, hoping for 1 or 2 sets at 70. Then I'll sit back and watch the pricing, if it goes into an area that I like, The 70's will go to eBay. If no 70's, then 3 sets go right to eBay, 2 get hoarded.

I understand that PCGS will certify this set as "First Bite" if you submit it in the original packaging.

Oh, I feel ya on that, the prices have been all over the place on Ebay! Where it settles will be a fantastic profit! With the 10th approaching hopefully, we'll see some of these starting to ship, but once again checked my status, still in processing, and moved up one more day!Mass confusion at the mint!lol

Well back to the sets :
I would except the cancel notices to go out late on Thursday of next week, as the Federal Holiday is Friday and no one to answer the phones or emails until the following Monday!!

Why is the Mint cancelling orders? Those who over ordered?

Could be for numerous reasons, just figured they would do it right before the Holiday!!

I have spoke with the mint. there is no intention of canceling orders on those who played by the rules. so i'm not sure why you would think that. makes no sense at all !

mint told me that there was many who didn't play by rules in fact there was several that got 25 sets some paid with same cc # but different address all will get cancelled except for first 5 but that is why taking so long is the overwhelming of bad, not by rule orders those who actually spoke with rep. on phone are getting done quicker just what they told me i have talked to them twice said same thing so hopefully they will ship shortly:yes::yes::thumb:

Think there's still time or space to get on the waitlist for more? Or is it closed?

I also spoke with a rep from the mint to check on the status of my order. Seems they went through the orders with a fine toothed comb, and caught a lot of people who were trying to scam and order over the limit; same addresses but different credit cards, same credit card#, but multiple mailing addresses, non-existent buyers, multiple PO boxes for the same individual etc, etc.
Apparently it will take a while to get it all sorted out. For those on the waiting list, this is good news though.
Also, if you played by the rules, you should have nothing to worry about.

that's just about exactly what i was told twice thanks as he said that it was a memo on the orders that was good to go! :D

It would be a refreshing change of pace to see the people who played by the rules be the ones who come out best in ANY situation, let alone, this one.

As vindictive as it sounds, I would love nothing better than for the people who ordered more than 5 sets to get their orders canceled and the distribution more closely follow that of the people who collect rather than the flood of speculators that come in, take their profit, and leave the higher priced items behind in their wake.

I agree with the above. I ordered only 1 set, but now wish I had ordered a few more, (albeit simply to resell them!).

At the end of the day, I have to appreciate that it's a beautiful set. I am also really looking forward to seeing both the reverse proof and the S-mintmarked ASE.
