the mint keeps pushing the expected delivery date back exactly 2 weeks until they ship.

Yeah, mine has been pushed back to 11/19 now too. These ebay pre-sellers have no idea when they're actually going to get their sets. It's a disaster in the making for buyers IMO.

As bad as their basic process of order taking is, it makes you wonder how these are getting packaged up. Or, at least how many people are doing it? You wonder if they only have a handful of people packaging these things up as fast as they can? Any imperfections will very likely be missed and crammed in the packaging to be sent out. I doubt much time is being spent on QC/QA. I thought they would have had these ready to go last month.

IMO, the mint sealed sets should be worth less than the opened ones that are at least seen and confirmed to be 'ok'.

I completely agree about eBay (actually PayPal) holding seller funds for an extended period of time. I work in the financial services industry and you can bet your a$$ that the CFO at PayPal is stoked on being able to hold those funds for an extended period of time. They'll probably make millions on interest each year. I'll bet they're holding $100M in unsettled funds at any given time. It's extremely unethical behavior for a corporation to act like that. I STRONGLY urge anyone with held funds to complain to the BBB about the policy. If enough people do it, they might change their minds.

Last time I had sets to sell, I simply walked into a local coin shop, a big one really, and told them what I could get on ebay and they paid me slightly less than the ebay price. The only thing I had to decide was whether I wanted cash or check. Ebay is Ok for some things like books and memorabilia but coins are just easier to sell face-to-face in my opinion. I simply brought in a copy of an ebay sale of the same set and they pretty much matched the price. I saved ebay and paypal fees and shipping and handling costs.

Down to one single, lowly set left on ebay with a buy it now of $800. 3 day auction just listed. It looks like they've caught up with shutting them down. It will be interesting to see what everybody lists at when the flood comes.

Doubt it will be on for long, if someone doesn't buy it then they will remove it.

looks like you have NOT read my post carefully. It does NOT matter how many feedbacks you have! even if you have 1000, but as long as you have NOT had sold at least 25 items on Ebay, your fund will be HELD !

That is an excellent deal. Although I doubt any coin dealer where I live will give that kind of offer.

Heck, the dealers near me recommend you sell it on eBay if you tell them that.

You scared me :) So far so good for me, although I sold <15 coins altogether.

Thanks for the warning though, I need to be more careful.

To some dealers that don't sell on ebay, ebay is a bad word to utter in their shops.

well ebay prices are almost always higher than what a brick and motor shop will offer you (before ebay fees at least)

Funny thing is that I've had ebay sellers claim that they had coin dealers offer higher than what ebay buyers are offering (which is bull****). I always tell them to take the offer, because there's no ways the item is actually worth that much. Of course since the "offer" is imaginary, there's usually no response.

That didnt last long. Another page full this morning. What has sold in the last 24 hrs is commanding strong prices. 700 up to 800 a set common. Two sealed sets went for 1650.
