I use a Visa Debit card linked to a money market account for payment to the Mint for my purchases. So far all large purchase have gone through with NO problems except when the Mint limited me to One 5oz ATB per address.

 

Order 3836xxxx 2 sets order request in process, order 3839xxxx 1 set still on hold

 

I'm kinda hoping the sets come with a nice COA. the individual 2011 ASE'S & AGE'S have a generic COA. black and white. In the past years ASE'S had some nice COA'S . some better than others

 

Why does the estimated ship date keep getting moved out? Mine is now the 16th.

 

This is common and happens quite often. Especially with popular issues.....

 

Talked to customer service today. I placed my order around 6:15 pm. Order #38390. She confirmed I'm on the wait list and said it could take a month to sort through al the orders. No other info available.

I think I should just keep calling back fishing for info. The first lady I talked to wouldn't tell me anything.

 

I have noticed that my estimated ship date rolls over to the next day about 15 minutes past midnight Eastern Time each night. Maybe an automatic thing with the Mint computer system.

 

Just a reminder: when these were in the pre-sale stage, the Mint stated they would be shipped in late November. I think we all knew that. So, why are so many getting their undies in a bunch now that the date keeps getting moved back. It is still earlier than the date that was originally projected by the Mint. If it gets moved back into December, I will then be in the irritated crowd.

 

It's because these guys who listing on eBay so quickly are newbies in the game. Any profit is good for them, they real players hold on till they know it's worth the sale. Some are selling due to using CC or they have to pay others back for fronting the money.

I'm use to the slow US Mint and was smarter then others. 0% apr for 21 months, I will have it paid off by then but I have the money to pay it off now BUT that would require me to work for the money instead of using the money to make money.

Has anyone's 'item status' changed to 'In stock and reserved'? It's kind of a contradiction for everyone's item status to be 'on Backorder'. Do you think the mint is still assembling and transporting the sets pending fulfillment (shipping to customers)? I remember reading that the coins were struck some time ago.

 

My experience is this is the basic M. O. of the Mint in terms of items that were sold without being ready. It happened also with the ATB collector's bullion. Mine has gone from on hold to in process to in stock to shipped on every occasion before this, so I have no reason to believe it won't do the same again.

I know the sets were being assembled in San Francisco, so the coins from the other mints had to be shipped there. After that, who knows what the distribution point will be. I've just told myself they will be shipped at the end of November, as the MInt originally indicated. That way, I keep my irritation level to a minimum.

 

They were stupid. There have been a dozen exactly the same auctions today for $600 which ended with 0 bids.
