I don't know. I think its kind of sad that so many people and there mothers just bought these sets with ONLY the intention of resale and hosing those that weren't able to get there hands on them. I can understand possibly buying 2 sets but I have seen way to many people saying that they have 5+ sets heading there way. No wonder why these sold out so fast.

You'll lose your OGP sending them in sealed, but I reckon you can buy some. Wonder how much this OGP will go for.

Over half of those graded are 70's. I don't think it will be hard to make a full set of 70's if you send in 5 sets. If the money is too good to turn down, I will just send in the RP and the S mint for grading, and buy the rest aftermarket. I think they should be available with a small premium. For myself, I prefer the OGP.

 

The "other three" coins in the set in a MS-70 grade, with the First Strike and 25th Anniversary label just might end up being fairly scarce, and bring a much better premium than many people think. It depends on how many people have 5 sets coming, and either don't want to pay the hefty price for the grading or they decide they will open the box and keep some in the OGP.

The FS with 25th label could very easily end up being a lot more scarce than many think.

It's my opinion and I know people will disagree and this has certainly been discussed endlessly, BUT, "First Strike"? How stupid is that? And yet, if there are actually people that will pay more for these coins based on that designation, I'll play.

Grading? How soon we forget that Moody's and Standard and Poor's gave AAA to toxic junk.

These coins are already struck, we know that (and the packaging takes longer to produce, so, these should have gone IN ORDER...'first in, first out')...however, we now also know that 'first in, first out' is NOT happening (there are reports of the 'wait list' time of 4:30 not being correct...one person claims an order placed after 6pm est is now 'in process'), and that many are having their orders cancelled (seems more than just a few posters on other forums claim it to be for no apparent reason, but I find that hard to believe).

'FS' is more like 'BS'. Now, 'Early Release', which I CAN accept over 'First Strie', should have no 'play' in this either. There should be no other designations besides '25th Anniversary'. But, as rickmp says, the FS IS where the money is.

 

Agreed! I think it is just a way to get the slabbers a lot of business quickly more than anything else.

I wonder if they'd hand out a special designation for my 48 rolls of Lincoln 2010 cents that were only released in Springfield Illinois? I had them date stamped at the post office. Come on you slabbers, give me that "First Strike" designation!

 

So, are the TPG’ers still requiring a sealed box and an extra fee for an FS designation?
Guess they think it’s a smart move to force all 5 coins to be graded – just further turns me off to having them graded.

Come on TPG’ers, give us a break for once, all (opened or not) should be designated FS and at no extra cost, since it would require no extra time to check the dated box.

 

I agree with you 100%. Forcing everybody to send in all 5 sets is really pushing it, instead of working with the customers. If there are 5 separate sealed boxes, the ones that are about 2x6x10, shipped inside of a bigger box, they really should work with the customers and allow them to be mailed in within the first 30 days. They could even put a restriction on it that if it even looks like it has been opened they will refuse it. There are a heck of a lot of people that have 5 sets coming, and they want to keep at least 2 of them OGP. It just seems like it would behoove them to work with us. But I guess they won't.

Got an offer yesterday from a smaller retailer to sell between $950-$1,050, but had to call to confirm price.

 

I believe they have said this type of designation won't be available for this coin.

 

Maybe, I see the sample NGC has posted does not have a designation other than 25th Ann.....

Never mind, after reading further I see someone else has already said this.

 

Once these things hit 800 a set I'm selling everything I got. That's 800 cash so closer to 875 a set if I was selling on ebay

 

an all 70's set recently sold for $5395.00
