Ken, when I was a YN, if something was out of my price range, it was out of my price range. I had to wait and save up to buy when I could afford it. That's part of the game and life in general for all things we wish to procure, young or old. It builds a responsible consumer and informed collector. While the Mint prices are indeed perceived to be high by many, our many very informed and long time dealers and business people in the coin industry have broken down the costs and shown them not to be as absurdly high as the masses consider them to be. If you want something special you have to save your milk money to get it...
Just wait, we haven't seen the coins yet. The 2010 Silver Eagle Proofs had lots of problems, like gouges on the frosted fields, etc. I hope they do a better job with these.
not sure what that means- but you clearly have limited experience buying from the USMint. anyone here will tell you that they have declined in the service department over the last 2 years- it is just a fact.
I do not have a major beef over this offering (I know from the early spouse offerings how to get the coins when they are swamped) but overall they are just beyond bad in the service dept.
Why do they address collecting in their FAQ's. Medals are one example of their secondary function along with bullion.
Actually, my experience is quite extensive in the metals. My Uncle owned one of the biggest jewelry factories. He was most successful. I will not say anymore. Religious discussions are not allowed on the forums.Read the rules please.
Edited , Contalk does not allow discussion of religion. [/QUOTE] Careful synoptic12. Don't want to bring religion into the fray as the mods will cast a dim view on this and shut the thread down. More likely the post would be deleted and poster infracted
He asked, and I replied truthfully. Truth is fine, but not when it is against the rules of the forum.
I know. It's just that sometimes these sorts of things escalate into something entirely different from what was originally intended.
Hey look, all I'm sayin' is religion and politics don't make for good copy in a coin forum. Wanna start a fight? Bring up politics or religion. Kind o' like callin' up the devil. Ya never know if he's gonna behave or not......... Thanks ( I guess) DG
We surely have heard that, time and time again. You cannot deny the foundation of man. I'm not seeking to cause any dissension, only trying to show that there is a better way, and money is not the answer. It is merely a game to me, I place no significance in collecting, but enjoy the challenge. I am by no means perfect, and as I have said, this is a weakness of mine. All in all, why get irritated about coins (anyone), they are truly meaningless in the realm of reality. If we liked not coins, none of us would be here.
Cointalk does not allow discussions of Politics, Religion, or World events. If you find you can not abide with this, let me know now. Jim
