BIN - methinks someone assumed it was a lowball listing for 5 sets and hit the button without reading first.

It's not showing up in the completed sales, so someone reversed the transaction. If the 2006 set with three coins with 1 key goes for $300 to $400, I bet this settles in the $1,000 range with 5 coins, with 2 KEYS and a much lower mintage (hmm, maybe $2,000 range).

I agree ASEguru, it's events like this that makes me dislike aspects of the hobby. Though more of my anger is toward the Mint.

Guess I made the forum mods mad? Who cares. You all know who you are hoarding the sets while the rest of us "wait" to get our coins yeah right...

Everyone had the same exact opportunity, in fact my buddy whom was logged in and refreshing since 10am, got booted at noon and had to start all over ordering his 2 sets. I had to grab my set by sacrificing my breaks at work, I called over 100 times to get 1 set and I still had to head home at 3pm and jump on a computer to get just a single set. The event was fair to all. They wished to create a rare item, the only measure they might have done better is set it to 1 per household... but than again the mint has to throw a bone to the dealers once in awhile too. The entire event was done evenly across the board.

And how many set(s) did you get to roll in the dough with and break those of us on the "waitlist"? Hmm?

Feel your pain ASEguru. Been on the short end of the stick many times in my life. You'll get 'em next time. :)

Accept the fact that it didn't work out and move on.

    BTW....welcome to the forum.

Anyway to figure out if you got a set or are on the waitlist? Anyone know around where the cut off was?

if you didn't get one, yeah it sucks but that's life. You could offer to buy one for $400 and see if there are any forum members nice enough to help you out. Alternatively you could just grab a preorder or two off ebay or wait until people start getting them in and flipping them late november. People are asking for $450 or so. The thing is, these sets are likely to be worth at least double or triple the original price of $300 in the coming months, so you'll still be better off buying on the secondary market now. Your alternative is to sulk and eventually buy one at market prices at a much higher amount later. If you're proactive about it, you can still get a very nice set at a fair price.

i ordered 3 from the mint and received an order # and an email. but i dont think anyone should count there chickens until they hatch.

no one has received any coins. just order numbers.

and the way the server was acting i am sure there will be some horror stories when all said and done.

There is no reason to thank him, if you had put in the same effort as he, than you would have the same as he. I believe you should be completely ashamed of yourself for blaming others for goals that you failed to achieve, where others, more diligent than yourself succeeded.

I got an order# just now for 5 sets! Had to wrestle with the system forever today. This evening it was just bing, bang boom and done.

The web-site didn't say anything about them being sold out yet.

Well since I'm the new guy here it is appropriate that I should be the one sitting on the fence.

Here is my cell phone time mark

4:54 pm and lasted 8 min. 22 sec. #38377 got my email confirmation.
The quote was post #794 page 53 same time.

I'm taking a Xanax and maybe a couple of Clonazepam so I can sleep tonight.

Congrats to all whom stayed on it and achieved obtaining there set(s) today, it wasn't easy by any stretch of the meaning... and I do feel bad for those that due to lack of effort, or just bad luck, did not get one.

So out of curiosity I have two questions:

    1. What do you think this set is going to go for? I personally would not be surprised with 1500 raw.

    2. Are you planning on sending your sets in for grading? I am thinking that I am going to send five for grading and keep five raw, with the possibility of also grading those.
