I'm just glad I sat through the crap to order my sets. Sucks for those who predicted a next day or even a few weeks to sell out. Jokes on them now, secondary market will put them in their place for that.

What's wrong with this page? It's not like the others. If it's fixed by the time you read this, never mind!

Apmex posts this in their site: "Rare! First Strike 70 Set! Special 25th Anniversary Silver American Eagle set."

Every one of them is eligible for first strike designation. I believe, too, that most of them will grade out at 70. Rare? Really?

If an issue sells out in a few hours, isn't the designation "First Strike" totally absurd? ("Early releases" would be equally absurd).

Heh, yeah, first strike is meaningless on these coins.

Will be interesting to see what happens to prices since there won't be any coins delivered until after 11/10 (at the earliest). People might calm down, decide the 2nd market isn't worth it and the vendors rescind their offers. Those betting on a quick return on the 5 sets have got to sweat it out now because you are going to have to race the other 100,000 coins to get them sold.

  9. Even if the wait list is posted on the US Mint Website, there is still a decent chance to get a set. Many early orders will be deleted for various reasons, such as CC problems. Also, if the Mint finds out that you ordered too many sets they delete ALL orders. In other words, if you still want one order now and get on the wait list. TC

Is everyones order status "on hold" or does that mean I'm on the waiting list?

I think if you sit on them for a year or two, they'll appreciate more than their silver value.

On Hold, "Held", means they will validate the order before it's released. i.e. They will check address & CC #'s to make sure the order limit wasn't exceeded.

    Grading question! HELP!

People are sending sealed boxes for grading (maybe for FirstStrike or Early Release).
My question is: Is there a set date on when you can submit or can you send it anytime like 6 months from now as long as its still sealed. Thanks.

That was a coin that carried a mintage of slightly less than 20,000 for each product offering (proof and Unc.) for a total mintage of just under 40,000. If the ASE anniversary set was limited to that mintage it would have sold out just as quickly......If not quicker.

It didn't take long did it? Was this a record for the mint?
