I believe that $7.25 will produce one man hour of non specialist labor most places in the United States of America, in my state though we pay slightly more as a minimum $8.00 per hour.
So generally speaking, one $ FRN is worth less than ten minutes of non-specific labor? Geez, that puts me at much closer to the Minimum wage than I'd previously thought.
Do you think we're the only nation with financial issues? Which nation do you really believe is doing so much better? Because you do realize that before three hundred million people here can just stop using one medium, we will need an alternative. People invest in PM's for several reasons, some people like shiney metal, I'm not kidding you, some people really do just purely enjoy the look and feel of something "precious", than there are those that are following the Gold to Silver ratio, Dollar value going up and down has nothing to do with their ratio, just the difference between those two commodities, but I have no interest in explaining that concept further to you, if you wish to explore the "Gold Ratio" just google it, it is rather interesting. Than lastly there is fear, usually those acting out of fear are the suckers in any market, be it real estate, stocks, or precious metals... they are the great losers whom bought high and will be forced to sell when it is low and than cry when they hit poverty... instead of buying things when they are low and holding onto them until they are high, or atleast higher than that in which you paid. Fear is usually a very poor reason to do any action. IMO
That's what makes me even more concerned, is that so many other nations are having financial difficulties. If other nations fail and have difficulty it has an impact on the US. Just like you said people have fear and do crazy things. I think people want something physical to hold onto like a PM. It makes them feel sucure having a lump of gold or bar of silver stashed away somewhere. HOTN
In the hypothetical situation where things have deteriated to the point where a fist full of gold and silver is all you have, the people that invested in guns, ammo, and food/water will not have much need of shiney metal. and is it really your goal to just be a doomsayer? They have been saying everything you fear for centuries and centuries, yet here we stand better than ever. We live longer and live better lives, each and everyone of us, better than kings themselves lived just a century ago. R*E*L*A*X take a deep breath if it helps you, and buy what you can afford and what makes you happy.... LoL
So Back to the ASE for Spot, they charged my card on 10/25 from Garden City, NY. I'm hoping I have something in the mail today when I get home. Does anyone know if they send tracking? The only thing I have received so far was the order confirmation. They said 2-3 weeks but it seems they are way ahead of schedule. HOTN
When I ordered my AGE I heard nothing else from them after the initial confirmation email. Seems like it took a couple of weeks to get here.
Follow up. They caught me. Sent me an email that the offer is for one to an address only. I suppose that if you have two or more addresses that you can use you might be able to get more than one. I'll have to try that.
It took about a week for me to receive the gold eagle. I received the order acknowledgement, but nothing else.
Placed an order the 22nd, received it the 28th. Shipping cost is higher than previously stated, but at least I bought it during a dip.
I got mine! It came on 10/28/11. I was down and out since then with pneumonia but "I'm back baby" (Costanza voice). It's a 1990. It is by far the nicest coin I now own with only a tiny light scratch. I love looking at it from the side view. My son who does not have interest in coins took an interest in this one. HOTN
Sold my AGE on Craigslist for $200 - cost me $162.50 + $10 shipping. I didn't keep it because I don't like the 1/10 oz AGE because it is so tiny. Glad I was able to flip it.
With the fees were you able to make any money? Or you just didn't want it any longer and just needed to break even? HOTN
I'll assist you with the math. Sold @ $200 Purchase $162.5 +$10 shipping = $172.50 total cost Profit + $27.50 16% Since my CC bill didn't come due, I never really paid for the AGE so it was $27.50 100% profit Hope this helps you with the math.
My Fault, You clearly listed you sold it on Craigslist. For some reason I was thinking EBay and I know they charge like 12% fees. Sounds like you made out well. I would do that all day long, too bad they only will sell one at that price. HOTN
