You guys are too wrapped up in current market conditions. So, let's PRETEND silver drops to $6, so there's $30 worth of silver in this set. Do you think the set could be worth less than $100 because of the drop in silver or will it retain a price of more than $300? I asked the same question for the 5oz. P Mint ATB's and some thought the price would plummet, even though the 2010's have a mintage of 27,000.

At $6 do you really think this set would only fetch $30? My opinion is that it will never be less than the issue price. Only if you had to barter for food would this set be no more valuable than other silver.

I do not believe the market is going to drop to anywhere near $6 as a result of this set coming out, and yes I understand it is a gamble, but It is my belief that silver will at least stay close to where it is at least long enough for the set to reach my hands and resell at the huge mark up the minute the U.S. Mint sells out!!! ;)

If I had enough credit cards w/ different billing addresses, I'd try to buy up the entire mintage of 100,000 sets... so there!!!!

There are people out there willing to pay much more than the mint is selling them for... taking advantage of this isn't greedy, it's smart. People do it in the markets every day. Look up arbitrage. This is about as close to the definition as you get in the coin market. This is an opportunity for profit without risk at zero cost. I say zero cost in this situation since we're using credit cards and there is a strong possiblity that I can get paid by my buyer before I have to pay my credit card bill.

This is the thread that should have been titled "free money."

If you're a collector and you just want one set, you'll get it from the Mint, don't worry. As long as you're persistent in trying on the web and/or the phone, you'll almost certainly get through before there is a sellout. Even the 2009 Lincoln Coin & Chronicles set which was a max mintage of 50,000 (but only one per order) took about 4 days to sell out and that was about as hyped as this release and that too was pretty much "free money."

To quote Greenspan, "Greed is good, it's what drives capitalism". Which is why we need regulation to check the greed. Unfortunately, the mint in this case chose to inadequately regulate this set, to ensure some don't get screwed.

I am trying to downplay this whole thing. So I don't have to sit on the phone for four hours on October 27 because of all this hype. Read all my replies. I have been trying to do PR work for you guys. There is just way to much hype. But the heck with it! We could all just have one big party and sit on the phone for four hours and watch our computers lock up.

The key to every successful business man is to "THINK BIG AND ACT SMALL"

Good luck to everybody on the big day.

It seems to me you have spent more than "4 hours of PR work downplaying", you would have less wasted time in your life if you just did what you needed to on the 27th and not acted silly here in the first place. ;)

Ok, I was just going to buy one set, but many here have inspired me. I'm getting 100 of my friends and family to each order 5, so I should have around 500 sets. If I get close to that number, I'll sell them to anyone that wants one for 10% less than the lowest BIN price on eBay.

If you had 150k to throw around, I do not believe you would even be playing with these sets in the first place... LMFAO
