Yeah, I want one, but not 10 if the sky is the limit. Anyone find the Mint press release mentioned in The Mint News Blog article that says 100,000?
We'll see, maybe they changed their mind or forgot to state the limit in the ad. Either way, I'd like clarification from the Mint before I order more than one. I still remember what happened to the 1974-s cent.
As a small collector I enjoyed lurking in your community and now I have to join, just to ask this question. I know the 25th Anniversary set is limited to 100,000, but has the mint stated the same limit on the 2 ASEs everyone wants ? It would be diabolical if they decided to offer these seperately after the sets were sold out.
I just purchased a 2006 anniversary set. I love it so much I'm going to get the 25th anniversary set as well. I sure hope it's under $400.
Welcome to CT, As the year is almost over I doubt that there is a plan to release these two coins in another product offering, but I do not believe there is anything that would prevent them from doing so.
They didn't do it in '06 with the reverse proof. I doubt they'll do it this year. Gettin' a little latein the year for shenanigans.......
That is indeed very strange. I have a hunch they are going to produce more. The key word in the press release is the word "plans" regarding the 100k mintage. TC
I too think it is strange that they are not mentioning the 100,000 limit on the sets, especially with a 5 per household limit. Personally I only care to keep 2 sets and would sell the other 3+ I was planning to buy, but until they clarify the 100K mintage limit i'll plan on ordering less sets then I originally planned...
Check out this link (5 items down): http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&pageIndex=2 There is no way this set will go for $229.95, correct? TC
Ummm... well according to the link you just posted that's exactly what is going on! That would be amazing and quite a welcomed suprise Doing the quick math that is about $46 per coin which is not unreasonable all things considered, just a shock. Then again our goverment has a tradition of poor financial decisions, although this one may come out in our favor!
I don't see how it could, TC. Knowing where the coins that are already available are selling, the bullion should be $40.00, the 2 uncirculateds $50.00 each and the proof $60.00. That would leave $30.00 for the reverse proof and the fancy box. I think somebody is messing with us. Unless the Mint has decided it's time to give us a bone for once.
Well there is was in black and white. What? You don't trust a government involved group to get things priced right? It may really go for that, but until I see it in my cart at that price, I'll think it's a tarp...um trap, um trick and certainly not a treat.
