killing the ebay bucks program for bullion buyers. I know several folks that have already turned to other auction sites due to this new rule...
Oh my - you mean Ebay stopped giving away free money? BANISH THEM TO **** - EVERYONE BOYCOTT!! :'( I really wish people had better things to complain about.
JJK78- Your point is taken, but They stopped an incentive program only for bullion buyers....every other product on ebay still is under the incentive (ebay bucks)...so it added $500 per quarter ($2,000) a year to my buying power...so it's worth complaining to me. Have a great weekend.
I'm interested in seeing which other Auction sites you are finding that offer the flexibility, and diversity of ebay.
Protovdo- no auction site can match ebay in many categories in my opinion.... that is why I'm so disappointed. They told me the name of the 2 sites but I forgot. I'll follow with you when I find out - I'm drawing a blank.
I really wish people wouldn't post to threads when they have nothing to contribute, and in fact, are complaining themselves. As far as the no ebay bucks for bullion...Does it simply not to do it for that category? Could you post your bullion in coin lots?
I'll complain about e-bay doing that...its horse****! how is it such a good thing to get rid of e-bay bucks for bullion? is e-bay changing the fees in favor of lower ones specifically for bullion? I doubt it! heck if anything I think killing e-bay bucks is only going to lower the amount of money people will pay and thus less fees for e-bay..I also think it will only hurt e-bay sales in bullion... I like to shop around...and if e-bay costs more...well I don't buy from them...so I guess it's their loss..but also at the same time I wonder why they have e-bay bucks period...just seems to be a sleight again bullion period EDIT: one question I got is just this include coins too? like junk silver? or strictly bars and rounds? and what are American Silver Eagles to them?
Alex- I share your thoughts. From what I read, it's just anything listed as bullion in the coin section....I'll try and find the exact policy for you.
We had a similar thing on Ebay UK that they stoped some time ago, now while it was nice to recieve a little bonus every 3 months it has not stopped me from buying on Ebay The only person that would realy hurt is myself!
This was a smart move on their part and if i was an investor in the company I would definately want it to happen. Why you ask?? Because the 2% that they were giving back was just being spent back on the bid price, driving the items up by that much, or more. So in reality it wasn't saving buyers anything, just costing eBay money every time. Perhaps this will now drop your cost of bullion on ebay by about 2% or even more.
I have to agree with that because from my past observations, after the ebay bucks certificate is available, that following month after the previous quarter, then the winning bids will be inflated. Certain ebay items that are usually hot items selling on ebay for , for example, "X" amount winning bid will now sell for X+20 winning bid because an ebay buyer has a, for example, a $20 ebay bucks certificate which would knock the final price to X dollars. I have seen certain silver items on ebay that have inflated winning bids because of the ebay bucks on months were the ebay bucks are available. It is not on all silver items but on some collectible silver items.
and e-bay can't get more seller fees? am I missing something here? I figure the more fees e-bay gets the better...
