I picked up a VERY bad condition 1830 bust half. it's very worn down I can't get a picture I'm sorry but here are the details

the date, not very clear but you can make out the 1830. looks like its been in the blender and very very down down.

what's the least this coin will go for?

Well, you said you just "picked it up." If you purchased it, it'll sell for around what you purchased it for. Coins are worth what people pay for them.

From your description it sounds like an AG coin plus it is a common date. I would say it should be worth somewhere around $25 to $30 or so.

    About $15.50

  9. At today's spot price, there's $15.799 in silver in it. Seeing as it's a bit worn, there might be a few cents less than that. Where did you get this, might I ask? An 1830 half for 2/3 the melt value seems a bit sketchy to me.

I bought 29 silver dimes and 3 walkers from a guy on craigslist and he threw it in all for $100. He sells silver not coins for collecting so I guess its cheaper. I have 1936 1939 D and 1939 walking lib halfs from him in very great condition. i think im going to sell these for collecting value not silver.

  11. That's still $130 in silver. I'm guessing he's never head of coinflation.com :D

his story is, every year, he goes down south and buys POUNDS of silver and then sells it. he buys for 20x face value and sells it a bit more to people like me, still below spot but enough for him to make profit but still meat on the bone for me.

  13. Interesting. I wonder where he buys it for such a low price. It's worth a bit under 30x today.
