Have you seen my Yellowstone ATB?

Well, it finally happened. It seems my Yellowstone ATB UNC fell off the back of the UPS truck. It’s officially lost. I contacted the Mint today, and they will be sending me the claim information to fill out and return. After an investigation I’m told I should receive a new one in 4-6 weeks. I just know another man is fondling my ATB at this very moment. I’ll let everyone know how this turns out.

Has anyone else experienced such a loss? When will the sadness pass? :(

Just assume that the one that got lost had scratches and dings and the replacement will be flawless.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. Personally I have not lost any coin/bullion shipments but I know others have. The sadness will pass but will not be gone until you are made whole again, hopefully as Copper Head said, hopefully the replacement will be a 70 :)

Was it a 5 oz. Silver puck or just the regular clad coin?

I haven't seen it, but if I see a dude fondling a Yellowstone ATB I'll let you know.

Ouch! Well, look at it this way: Someone's having a VERY good day and you're getting reimbursed for your lost coin.

How does the UPS tracking information read?

I've learned that it doesn't matter what the UPS tracking information reads. The status was updated daily with "Out for delivery" - only the date changed for about a month. Just recently it changed to "Tracer request. / Claim issued".

Something fishy is going on with UPS, not only did my Yellowstone go missing, but my Yosemite (next in the series) arrived on Wednesday and the package had already been opened. I refused to sign for it because the UPS label was torn and the package was resealed. I didn't want to say it before, but I'm certain UPS has a bad apple. I think I’m done ordering PM’s from companies that use UPS, because frankly, I’m afraid of getting burglarized.

I still haven't received a replacement from the Mint, but it now says "In stock and Reserved"

Sorry to hear that Rhino, and it does appear that there is a "bad apple" at UPS. The fact that the tracking info read "out for delivery" means that the package was scanned into the "load" or in laymans terms, the package was scanned and loaded into the truck. Every package that hits the drivers truck is scanned. They'll get the bad apple but that still doesn't solve you're problem. You're still out of a coin/shippment.

Rhino- I'd report your suspicions to UPS. You may not be able to control which of your shippers use UPS. You need whoever this scumbag is removed from handling packages to you and others. They have internal security and will catch this person.
