Both very pretty Juan. Here are a few Proof Silver Eagles, I guess technically not bullion, but I've got to post them because I think they are the most beautiful silver coins ever put out by the US Mint.
I went shopping at various local dealers today and I picked up some interesting silver items today. Here is a Silver Eagle that I bought today from a local dealer........................ I paid $38 for it (spot finished at $34.62/oz today). This is the lowest premum that I have seen on a 1996 SAE. Here is a silver art bar that I bought today from another local dealer.................... It is a "FMG - Fragrance Marketing Group" silver art bar. Actually, it looks more like a commercial bar than an art bar IMO. I bought it today from a local dealer and I paid $36.74 for it. Spot was $33.74 when I bought it earlier today since this particular dealer was charging $3 over spot for silver bars but spot ended up closing at $34.62 for today. This bar was minted by the World Wide Mint but I do not know what year. I am guessing '70's or early '80's but I will have to do some more reseach on this since I did not see it in any of my silver art bar guidebooks. It is stamped "One Troy Oz. .999 Fine silver on the side of the bar (see third picture). This is the first time that I have seen this bar anywhere. Hopefully I can get more information on this bar.
Lost Art, I like the Fragrance Marketing Group bar, and if I saw it I'd be inclined to pick it up, too! Thank you for sharing your finds. Lucy
I also love collecting sport-themed silver but I like the sports-themed 1-oz silver art bars. I particularly like the sports-themed silver art bars that were minted by a private company called The Mint. These were minted from the late '70's to the early '90's and I really love the enameled ones that they produced. However, these are rare and are very hard to find locally. These are usually up for auction on ebay.
Here's one of my favorite "bullion" pieces-- a Gallery Mint Museum 5-ounce chunk of silver showing Medusa on one side and Perseus holding Medusa's head on the other.
If you ever happen to run across any Cleveland Indians or Browns bars I'd very much appreciate a heads up on them. Shoot me a pm if you think about it.
Ok. I will keep a lookout for any Cleveland Indians or Cleveland Browns art bars for you. If I see one, I will PM you. I do not think that The Mint produced any Cleveland Indians or Cleveland Browns silver art bars but there might be a Cleveland Indians or a Cleveland Browns silver art bar that was minted by another private mint. More than likely, if I see one, it will probably be on ebay.
picked up 385oz on this dip, mostly eagles, still waiting on 4 rolls of ASE's and a roll of buffalo rounds.. DCA for this batch is $39.70, my stack DCA of $22 will take a slight hit.
If you're going to spend $12k+ on silver in one batch... why not just buy straight from Kitco? It'd be cheaper.
After receiving some lower grade ATB- MS coins in bullion form, I might have a MS70 here with the collector series. I will probably send this in for the First Strike designation as well. Does anyone know for sure if these are grandfathered for the First Strike like the bullion coins are? In order to maximize the knurled finishes in the Hot Springs fields, I had to bounce the light off the surface a just a bit more angle. That angle has caused a color shift that the obverse does not show. FYI.
