While it can take longer than some are willing to bet, the 2009 Lincoln Coin & Chronicle sets, of which there were 50,000 sets available directly from the Mint, this product sold out in approximately 30 hours. There are 23,000 fewer of each design of the 2010 "P" AtB 5 oz. coins. Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set Sold Out from CoinNews.net [10/16/2009]
I'll still stay with my original prediction. I figure Yakpoo needs company after his $50 Silver price goes down the tubes as well.
Sort of nerve racking Order finally took after refreshing about 15 times. Their website kept shutting down and my screen kept going blank, but after about 30 minutes it finally took. Hope everyone else gets theirs. Good luck
Is that a pic of the Uncirculated coin? - looks the same as the regular bullion coin to me. Unless that is not it then disregard everything I just said
Woulda shoulda coulda - don't be that guy! Even if you don't like em I bet you can flip it and make a few hundred dollars in a matter of days... that is unless you are independantly wealthy and if so - spread the love around!!
Just ordered one on the phone, after their website shut down. But, it’s unclear if I actually got one. The person taking the order said the system didn’t tell her it was sold out and I got an order number. But, how and when are you notified if you’re put on the “wait list”?
Just my opinion, but I see it as being a very good investment, as a PM and a collectors item. Generally the first coin minted in a series ends up being valuable, and these first five will have low mintage numbers of 27,000 each. I may not end up collecting all of them in the end, but I definatley want the first five, bullion and "P" versions. But.....everyone is different. Collect what you like.
Are they waving the $300 minimum for free expedited shipping? I said I'd pay the extra for expedited and operator said it's free because it's buillon. Anyone know if this is true?
Haven't seen this posted anywhere,...but the "P" ATBs are not from sandblasted dies....they are vapor blasted after minting. Quoted directly from the US MINT FAQ: "The surface of all America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Numismatic Coins will be "vapor blasted" after the coins have been struck. As part of this process, the United States Mint uses a water vapor and ceramic media mix. It is very similar to sandblasting but instead of using compressed air, we use a compressed water vapor. The finish is applied to each coin AFTER the coins have been struck and NOT to the coin dies. This provides a uniform, protective finish on each coin. https://answers.usmint.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/224/session/L3NpZC9idm5NV0Rzaw==
onecoinpony; The fact that the charge appears on your confirmation would lead me to say it's not free. This is the amount billed to your credit card. Go one line and see if this total matches up on your statement.
I paid $297.85. The operator kept saying there's a big sign in our room that says "free expedited shipping on the Hot Springs". I said, I want the sucker in my hand, now! So I said add in expedited shipping charge, she did.
onecoinpenny; Since there is no tax on the sale, you should have been charged just $279.95. You paid more. The difference in price IS the shipping charge. Have you checked under "recent activity" on your credit card statement?
Well, I didn't go expedited, and I added other coins that brought the total to over $300 and I was charge 4.95 for shipping. I can't believe the mint didn't gouge the heck out of us on this one.
There's been 5 completed presales on eBay in the last hour for $450 to $474. What do you think, sell now or is it going to go higher?
