Silly me, I should have known lol. Those are out of my price range so to think about buying one is useless to me. Right now anyways. Would love to have at least ONE one day. LOL Thanks VetStudent.
I waited for the $20 Gold UHR and the 5 oz Silver bullion sets. By wait, I mean several days or even weeks after their release. Then just log right in and get the coin I want. I hate crowds when shopping. :>)
The only problem with waiting is that there were over 100,000 UHRs. Did they even announce a max mintage for them? With the hype for the ATBs and the small-ish quantity, I'm not gunna wait myself!
and where do you buy one? My husband wants one really bad. I keep saying they're overpriced but I'd love to suprise him with one for a father's day gift.
VACookey, the numismatic ATB 5oz coins (aka: collector's or "P" mint mark) will be sold directly by the US Mint via their website. They go on sale this Thursday (the 28th). Good luck surprising the husband! PS- You've probably made a bunch of the men on the forum wishful that their wives would surprise them with bullion/coins!
We are a coin collecting couple. He gave me an Australian silver proof love coin for Valentine's Day. Sure beats flowers and chocolate!
No other guesses on the length of the sale? Hours? Days? Weeks? Finally goes off-sale when Gettysburg comes out?!
Not sure. I'm on the fence over buying one of the "P" pucks. The bullion coins may be fanfare enough given the design originality. I'd like to see an actual photograph of a "P" version before I buy one to make sure the finish isn't just a slightly better strike bullion version with altered surfaces... My guess for when the coins sell out, faster than it took the Lincoln Coin & Chronicles sets to sell (50k sets vs 27k pucks in a bull metal market, and a product ripe for flipper-cash): 29 hours and 23 minutes for sell out, not including the time the Mint's server crashes and is completely off line and minus any time when phone operators are not working. The point is they will go quickly. A contingent of flippers and those who obtain 70-graded "P" pucks will do well with these. Good luck to all...
Pretty sure that is all they are with exception of the "P" mint mark, I believe they just sandblasted the dies if i remember correctly, more of a burnished finish. By all means if you have the money I would buy one for sure. The secondary market will probably be seeing $500 for these the moment they sell out, if not sooner. Any on the Bay yet? I'll go check EDIT: Yup found one on Ebay for $699obo... http://cgi.ebay.com/2010-P-HOT-SPRI...53?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item5198e55655
Will be even harder now that Modern Coin Mint is appealing to the public to buy them on their behalf for a slight commission. It's turned mad ugly, real fast!
