    Hi,

I have posted on the classified board here but have not gotten any hits. Does anyone know of a reputable dealer that would be willing to take my entire stash (not that is HUGE)?

    I have the following:
    • 1 set of 5 ounce ATB coins
    • 40 2010 ASE's
    • 10 ounce Englehard locafs
    • 10 ounce Sunshine Bars
    • 1 ounce Morgan Bars
    • 5 2010 ASE proofs
    Thanks in advance!

Not sure if the spacing in the ad might have cause some to not pay attention,

as I would edit it with spaces.

The 5-oz ATB coins bring a good premium on eBay.

The ATB 5oz coins are just not fetching the kind of money that they were in January. You have your set listed at $2,500 but there are BIN listings on Ebay as low as $1,300 and also the opportunity to buy from at least two APs for less than $1,000 shipped.

If you take those out of the equation I would say that your prices are very fair (160oz for $5,940 = $37.13/oz) but with them included, even your discounted "take the lot" price comes out to $43.24/oz or $4/oz over spot.

My personal feeling is that the ATB coins are hitting about the lowest that they will go due to a current glut as APs try to sell their allocations before the 2011 coins are made available. The Mint is insisting that they do so in order to be permitted to order the 2011 coins at all. Once all of the APs are sold out, I would expect to see prices rise a little as the flippers run out of inventory and stronger hands take over.

Back to the original question: maybe offer a "take the lot" price for the remainder of the bullion items and price the ATBs seperately with a more attractive price? The ATBs are awkward as they carry a numismatic/rarity premium that is currently difficult to quantify, whereas the other bullion that you're offering doesn't. I think splitting the sale up in this way would let you find a buyer for the majority of your stash fairly easily and give you options with the ATB set.

Someone's selling the 2010 ATB sets on eBay for $1050 BIN -- and they're selling like hotcakes. At that price, I'm actually a little bit tempted myself.

Oops, forgot the link -- whoops, make that $1025!

Whoa -- by my figuring, they're netting somewhere around $950 after eBay and PayPal fees. And the melt value of this set is $932.75. What the heck?

eBay fees would be $52. Paypal fees would be $31 or so. They're making even less than your estimate... But given that they limit one per NEW customer, it's likely that the sets are a loss leader with the intention of placing you onto a mailing/contact list.

I was using this eBay calculator and making the most generous assumptions about their discounts and PayPal rates. As you say, it's possible that they're getting even less than I said. That's a pretty extravagant "loss leader", especially since they could move the things plenty fast at $1200 or $1300 -- the going rate for ungraded sets seems to be $1400 and up, based on completed Buy It Now auctions.

That Ebay seller is MTB, one of the eleven Authorized Purchasers. They're simply using Ebay to sell off their last remaining sets, and cannot charge more than that due to their agreement with The Mint and the markup restrictions that were imposed on the APs for this particular set. It's not a loss leader.

I've dumped a few hundred ounces at apmex before with no issue. I really like them, and they pay close to spot. Bad part is you pay shipping, and if you are only selling a small stash then it may not be worth it.

You may want to hit up coin shops near your house, could even call around. See who will offer you the most money.

If you have an established Ebay account (one with a bunch of sales) then eBay will most likely get you the most money, stuff is overpriced on that site, Silver Eagles selling for $49 ludicrous

    Good luck
